It was very cold in the evening when the sensible temperature exceeded minus 10 degrees Celsius, but I walked hard. Actually, this day was Christmas Eve. Shop rents (or key money required) around Hongik, Yonsei and Ewha are high. Yes, it's not insane like Gangnam but the many coffee shops and beer joints aren't like the West- they will demand you keep buying liquid or else you must get out.

Been to Korea multiple times but never really experienced their Christmas season.. Planning to do it 2020, then covid came :( Hope this ends soon so we can travel freely again.

EXCELLENT CITY
Looking at the young adults in this video they look taller on average then Americans which is 175 cm for men and 163 for women. The young adult Koreans in this video look mostly taller then 175 cm for men and 163 cm for women. I see this for street walking in many videos in northern Chinese cities as well with alot of kinda tall to very tall Asians. Seems like Asians, especially for young adults in northern China regions and in South Korea have passed Americans, and a majority of Europeans in most of Europe with the exception of the Dutch and these Scandinavian countries which are the tallest Europeans. I definitely feel like I would be shorter on average as a 5'7" white American man in South Koreans cities like Seoul or in northern Chinese cities like Beijing then walking around in the general population here in the USA.
So in the USA, we get the impression that Asians from the eastern regions of Asia are short for a stereotype, because we usually see when in Chinatown like in Philadelphia for myself or in these Asian markets in Harrisburg, PA mostly short and older adult Asians who are either from southern China regions or from southeast Asia like Vietnam, Cambodia or the Philippines. So Asians get this short stereotype when we see these Asians in the USA, especially when they are older adults and especially with their senior citizen aged population. But if going into South Korea or northern regions of China we would get the stereotype that Asians are tall, especially with their young adults, and feel shorter on average then walking around in the general population of white or European Americans. Plus so many Chinese from their northern provinces and South Koreans or Koreans in general as with Korean Americans have light skin color and often look more white on average then European Americans and most Europeans. So a tall white Asian stereotype with northern Chinese and Koreans in South Korea would be more accurate.

Young Asians are getting taller in general, but Korean men are notorious for wearing those special shoes that add extra centimeters. But no, they're not taller than Europeans on average.
