It was a hot summer's day, which Laura - 18 at the time - spent with friends at the lake. They then met together for an evening barbecue. But what began as a fun time together, ended up turning into tragedy: as the result of an explosion from a tabletop fire, Laura suffered severe burns, was brought to a specialist hospital by helicopter, and found herself in a critical condition.
Almost one third of her skin had suffered burns - some had already been transplanted, with further skin grafts and stays in rehab to come. Today, two years later, extensive scars and medical treatments still characterise her daily life. But Laura doesn't dispair, she accepts he situation.
In the film she tells of how she fought her way back to life, why she no longer wants rid of her scars, and what she said to the person responsible for the accident.
