About the Hike
Mt. Shogikashira is a 2,730-meter high mountain located in Nagano Prefecture, known as the main peak of the Central Alps. The climbing season typically runs from late June to mid-October.
There are two main routes to climb Mt. Shogikashira. One route goes via Mt. Kiso-Komagatake, using the Komagane Ropeway, which allows climbers to ascend about 1,300 meters in elevation quickly, reducing physical strain. The other route, which is introduced in this video, is a round trip from the Katsuraoba trailhead.
During the climb, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Senjojiki Cirque adorned with alpine flowers and spectacular vistas of the Southern Alps in the distance. Near the summit, there are steep rocky sections, but the 360-degree panorama from the top is breathtaking. A mountain hut near the summit allows overnight stays, offering the charm of enjoying both sunrise and sunset.
Mt. Shogikashira is suitable for intermediate-level climbers and popular among experienced hikers. However, the round trip takes about 8-10 hours, making it a considerable day's hike.

登山ルートについて
　将棊頭山は長野県にある標高2,730メートルの山で、中央アルプスの主峰として知られています。登山シーズンは通常6月下旬から10月中旬までです。
　将棊頭山への主な登山ルートは2つあります。木曽駒ヶ岳を経由するコースで駒ヶ根ロープウェイを利用すると、標高差約1,300メートルを一気に上がることができ、体力的な負担を軽減できます。今回の動画ではもう１つのルート、桂小場登山口から往復するルートを紹介しています。
　山行中は、高山植物が咲き誇り千畳敷カールの壮大な景色や、遠くに南アルプスを望む絶景が楽しめます。頂上付近では岩場の急登が続きますが、頂上からは360度の大パノラマが広がり、その景色は圧巻です。山頂付近に山小屋があり、宿泊すれば朝日と夕日を楽しむことができるのが魅力です
　将棊頭山は中級者向けの山で、経験豊富な登山者に人気がありますが、往復で8〜10時間程度かかる 山行となります。
