    This is what liberty media and the current management of f1 doesn’t understand. Going to a gp back then was a once in a lifetime experience. The sound of the cars, the drivers, the way the cars looked, the atmosphere, modern f1 doesn’t do it justice. Every year I go to a Grand Prix and each year it progressively becomes less memorable, less exciting and less interesting to me. Maybe it’s nostalgia, I don’t think so.

    • @cineflow0538
      @cineflow0538 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Its not, you just dont feel the atmosphere anymore, you don’t get the impact of a light, heavy powered machine and snappy only being able to be “tamed” by the best drivers of open wheel racing, current F1 is a money machine, rather than a Motorsport that transmites passion true TV and on track experience, like it was before.

    Next lap he got the provisional pole. Then Mansell went back to the track and got it back. By the end of the 1991 Williams already had the upper hand and was close to finish the development of the winning car of 92 and 93. The most interesting part to me is right after Senna got the pole and Mansell gives a look to his engineer like he was saying " I told you he would make it possible".

That doesn't mean saying that he was a better driver compared to Senna (I don't think he was), but if you've seen him drive you must understand what a beast he was behind the wheel: ridiculously fast and extremely determined, and one that would have certainly been able to fight with Senna the same way Prost did

      I was just thinking the same. It's because those cars were much lighter and the tracks bumpier, so they move around a lot, despite the downforce (which is nowhere near what we have now). The engine sound helps too and as WombatXBT said, it's also the cameras as well. Last but not least the drivers were much more exposed so we can see them working the wheel and their heads bouncing around.
      A modern F1 can probably go 5-6 seconds quicker around this Silverstone layout, but it would'be too planted and smooth to give the impression of speed.

      @@soilentgreen7 when we see MV in a Senna/Prost, a Schumacher/Hakinnon or even a Hamilton/Rosberg season, but not in best car, then he may merit such discussion. 1 controversial followed by 2 runaway championships, does not make a goat. Imho of course. The best is yet to come

    This goes to dumb people saying that Senna died in 1994 because his car was too low.

      It’s a possibility. With the car setup so low, it could’ve bottomed out violently and broken the steering column. However, to do this the steering column would had to have been faulty anyway, which it was.
      F1 did introduce the plank wear and minimum ride height rules after this though.

    1.22.2? That's really fast, without exaggeration he floated in the car, scary really really fast.

      That’s not ground effect. Ground effect was banned in the 80s.

    今の予選ももちろん凄いと思うけど
    この頃は本当にドライバーがタイムを削り取って行くって感じで
    見ていて息をするのも忘れる感じでした。
