      Happens quite often down here. Those officers in particular are willing to help out. I’ve worked many accidents with them, and they’re always willing to lend a hand when needed.

    Huge kudos to the officers for giving a hand in the clean up. Those two are really the first I've seen do that.

    I can't believe the police left you alone to finish hooking up with no one to control traffic.

      The cop stuck around, the fire truck is what moved and left that one side open

    F 250 rear ended into a Toyota Corella and perhaps got smashed at the front bumper and the engine,too.

    I'm glad that the 1 officer did stick around ɓut it still left one side uncontrolled, and so many folks don't slow down and move over when they see lights that it must be scary at times . PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER!

    2:30 Love the breast cancer livery on the Tahoe. The officer driving it was beautiful.

    That one red light seems to be overlooked. From the impact and distance traveled, I would say the truck hit the still rolling at a good speed. I hate that intersection. People just are not paying attention when driving.

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, unfortunately, a lot of bad accidents happen there

    Fire guys can be such dicks - almost always leaving the tow guy to clean up without any blocking protection.

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of them down here are volunteers so they do the bare minimum and roll out.
      Not all are like that. There are a few departments that take pride in what they do

    How often do you have to use an police officer as a translator?

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On occasion. I generally don’t deal with the customers too much. The cops do most of that

  • @JohnMurrayOP

    Great video and super Freeport Police support. That Toyota is well engineered to take a hit from a heavy pickup. I doubt that other cars of this size would have taken it. My question for you is when a Toyota takes a hit like that how often does the transmission/auto parking brake lock up? Ever? Or when the front end is damaged?

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not very often. I did have one on new year, but that was because the impact jammed the shift linkage, and you couldn’t shift it as a result.

  • @markverloop8787
    @markverloop8787 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why didn’t you pick it from the front? you had to
    Go around the muffler & another junk Would’ve been a lot easier

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you watch the video, there’s an ambulance and a fire truck directly in front of the car.
      Rather than sit and wait for them to move, I loaded it backwards to clear the scene faster. Which is what I was there to do.

    Great job again. Just a question, why don't you have a remote control to operate the winch and the flat bed? Should be a lot more easy for you. Following you from Belgium.

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would like to have a remote, but my boss doesn’t like using them.

    If the police was going to stay there Why not pull next to the EMS and load it or just wait? I'm just asking I'm not telling you how to do things.

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because then I’d be in the middle of the active lanes, which would have put us at a huge risk for a secondary accident.

    You were little impatient and I do not like what you did there you need to do something about that if I was working for a scene with fire and ems I would wait where I am at until they went to the hospital and for me to move up and pick up the wreck vehicle and tow it away for traffic to flow easily again PLEASE DO NOT DO WHAT YOU JUST DID BECAUSE IT WILL WASTE TIME OF THAT BETTER THAN JUST PULLING UP TOWARDS THE FRONT!

    • @Towtruck_Dustin
      @Towtruck_Dustin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Name of the game is clearing the road, and if I have to turn around to get the road clear, so that everyone can get off the busy highway, then I’ll do it every time. We had multiple lanes closed, and I waited until traffic was clear.
