arguably the best lecture on GA available online...great lecturer. There are some lecturers, no matter how much they talk, nobody understands a single thing, and then there are others where even a single word makes sense...this one deff belongs to the later. helped me on my exams..thank you
There has been a lot of development on GA. Now a day, GA can solve various large-scale complex optimization problems, thanks to the advanced computers. Many thanks Sir for the nice lecture.
Thank you a lot for this video, Sir, plz I have an issue concerning optimization by genetic algorithm that I want to maximize the determinant of a matrix 3x3 importing data from txt file including over than 200 values. I will be very thankful to your response. Salutations.
Thanks for this video sir,,,, beautiful concept. but having a very small doubt sir... what we have to do if we get two same guys after mutation.. i have got same strings in new population how we have to take count for it
Awesome lecture never felt like inside a class..... it was like listening a story while learning ........... but please somebody tell him he is on camera......... losing belt would only make his student laugh........ and put IIT on shame.....
A property of GAs is that they manipulate a population all at once, which can have major advantages for certain problems with poor initial structure when novel solutions are needed, but GAs do not tend to find global optima in well-structured problems very well. There is, of course, no proof that evolution ever finds global optima, and likewise, GAs do not necessarily do particularly well at global optimization. Simulated annealing tends to find global optima much better.
I have to say. This is by far the most accessible lecture on this topic with a lot of intuition.
Brilliant Class, and Prof. also has a very nice sense of humor. :D

Hats off.......difficult concept explained in very precise and simple manner.........thanx for the upload....!!!
Thank you professor. A teacher, One who Enlightens is equivalent to God. I have been enlightened on this concept by you.

Solving Optimization Problems agree with you
Salute to sir fir finest lecture on GA🙏
excellent explanation Sir, i could sit and study in your class for hours.
Excellent sir 👏
Even though I am from mechanical engineering, i easily understand.
nptel lectures are always good and helpful:)
Thanks a lot for to the point explanation in simple language. I got Basic clear idea of GA. Looking forward to study it in detail
So Coherent, thanks for such pragmatic lecture
excellent lecture on GA. I found very useful for my work. Thanks sir.
Very fascinating lecture; well delivered 💯
Hats off sir, Your teaching style showed your love for subject
Superb Video!! Thanks sir for great explanation!!
Thank you sir ..... suggest a video for clustering sigmentation
Thank you sir...Nicely presented.
Very nice and informative lecture. Thanks
Really an excellent lecture. Thank you so much
Amazing sense of humor.
such an excellent teacher..
Artificial Machines can reproduce in theory. Read about the recursion theorem and turing machines.
The lecture might be well planned or unnecessary parts might be trimmed.
thanks alot for this beautifl lecture , it was very useful to me
Variety is spice of life.. :D lol
Btw nice lecture...
Nice explaination
only nptel course which i cannot watch at 2X
😂True but it needed not to be watched at 2x as it is so engaging
Why was Residual defined at 51:49 ??
Can someone plz explain this !
Thank you a lot for this video,

Salutations.
very very good and useful
please arrange some lecture on particle swarm optimaization
video 47:44 till the end... nothing able to understand... anybody help me
Thanks for this video sir,,,, beautiful concept. but having a very small doubt sir... what we have to do if we get two same guys after mutation.. i have got same strings in new population how we have to take count for it
this is awesome... blew my mind
What is the purpose of mutation..
Because it's not calculated in question
evolutionary neural networks. Good tips!
Plus amazing teacher too.
what's the date of this lecture ?
Awesome lecture never felt like inside a class..... it was like listening a story while learning ........... but please somebody tell him he is on camera......... losing belt would only make his student laugh........ and put IIT on shame.....
very good lecture. :)
Damn good explanation....
Thank you! The best!
Hi do you have E-posta
SIR, THANK YOU SO MUCH
Sir,how to consider fitness function for colouring problem
very much intresting.....
This is good stuff ;) ..

very nice algorithm
40:27 Loved it
im a slowpoke
Am I high or is he? Jokes apart, What a brilliant lecture and what a brilliant guy
mate pool, actual count, cross over site, new population - all these values how do they came... exhausted try to understand them... unclear explanation
Books are cheap in India
Gligkutigugigigikuligigigi I cannot understand any word.
sorry the speach is Not possible to understand
arey badcow explain clearly
Telugu valani thidtharu antey endhuku thitar ra nee lanti badcow online unte.u r a disgrace man.
For me, He is a great professor John himself he didn't explain well as the way the professor explain it here.
