It's FIXED!!! After some feedback on Vinylengine I went back through the restoration pics on Dualcan's Tumblr Dropbox page and found what I missed. I'll show the fix in my full video on this turntable. One minor, but critical adjustment and it now works perfectly! I plan on doing a needle drop video also.

Looking forward to your video to explain what you had to do to get it right.

PLEASE tell me that adjustment! I've had this issue for two decades! I have to put a spacer by the single-multi lever as well. I almost got it to work today, but now after messing with the adjustments, my tonearm lift is not working in single mode, only in multi! Thanks much for your help.

@@VinylRescue thank you so much for your super-prompt reply! I was actually watching this exact video for the second time. I am now trying to locate on my 1229 the part you show at the specified time of the video. But I really didn’t understand what the fix was. Maybe I’m too tired! Thanks again for any help you may give me!

@@EnricoDePaoli it's underneath the plinth. It surrounds the base of the tonearm. It swivels inside of it. Part of the tonearm goes through the plastic sleeve. If it's not adjusted correctly it won't swivel back and forth. There's a screw on the side to adjust it so there's no tension on the tonearm metal part restricting its movement. Hope that helps.

Very and intricate mechanism that moves the tone arm. I replaced a tonearm on my 1219 that had a broken dearing ring, i had to try 5 times to get it installed properly. I also used the great info from Klaus. It was easy to put it in JUST OUT of alignment and very difficult to get it right. I now have a 1229 with a broken D.R. and i think i may send it to Klaus.

Hmm, I'm now thinking that if I leave it in the "Multi" mode I can put a shim between the headshell and cart that's thick enough to compensate for the tonearm being uneven might fix it?? Thoughts??

It was the pt 232 correct? It’s the segment guide piece?

Yes! Once I adjusted how it swiveled through 233 it all worked fine!

I really have to laugh at such worthless trolling comments from people like you. So rather than delete your idiotic comment I'll just highlight that your comment is baseless since you have no content on your channel showing that you have any expertise on turntable repairs, which we can all presume you have NONE! I spent over two months troubleshooting and repairing this turntable for a friend who was very grateful that I was able to fix it. So for you to troll on by and leave a BS comment - dude just get a life! 😂😂
