Rinken Band - Sabani

Rinken Band were formed back in 1977 by Rinken Teruya. Born in 1949, Rinken comes from a musical family, his grandfather being Rinzan Teruya, and his father the much loved colourful character Rinsuke, who died in 2005. Rinken Band came to prominence in the mid 1980s, when they released their first album, Arigato, after which they released records regularly and became one of Okinawa's most prominent bands. Rinken, plays sanshin, writes most of the songs, yet stays largely in the background during a live show. His wife Tomoko Uehara sings the more plaintive songs, while a trio of male singers and dancers perform lively upbeat tunes. Rinken Band are still popular today in Okinawa and perform regularly a their own club Karachi. They have performed around the world.
Sabani is one of their most popular songs they play live, a fishing song acted out with oars.

これは海のシンフォニーコンサートですね。当時別のアーティスト目当てで見に行ったのですが、りんけんバンドさんを見て、一気に虜になり何度もビデオ見返しました。この後のめでたいめでたいも好きです。

小学生の頃、地元でりんけんバンドのコンサートがあり、この曲を生で聴きました。
とにかくすごかったを覚えていて、大人になった今でもワクワクする曲です。
