    _Kedai makan_ actually means an eatery. _Kedai_ is shop, _makan_ is eat. _Cik Siti_ is the name of the eatery, could very well have been the name of the owner. _Cik_ means miss/Ms while _Siti_ is a typical traditional name among malay women. So _Kedai makan Cik Siti_ means the (bizarre) shop that eats its owner Ms Siti! 😂😂😂

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jon, thanks for the Malay lesson and that sounds pretty funny!😀 I think that is what it was named, but now you mention it, we could have got it round the wrong way!

    • @jonmath4182
      @jonmath4182 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BucketListTravellers lol I hope you are aware that I was only joking with that last sentence 😂 It would've been true if you translate the malay name _Kedai makan Cik Siti_ word by word: shop eats ms Siti 😂😂😂 But of course that's not how malay language works so the translation is ms Siti's eatery/restaurant haha
      So yeah, when you confidently told your audience the place is called _Kedai makan,_ that was equivalent to your being at a joint called Sydney harbour restaurant, and pointing out the name of the restaurant is: restaurant haha
      So if you see _Kedai pak abu_ then the name of the shop is pak abu. If it's _Kedai gunting veloo_ then it's veloo's scissors shop. Oops nope, it's not! 😂 Although _gunting_ does mean scissors, it's actually shortened from _gunting rambut_ (haircut) so it's veloo's barber shop 😅

      @@BucketListTravellers 'hantu air' aka ghost water if translated is a term used commonly here to refer a person like me who are crazy for places has water such as waterfalls🤣. Malaysians has one of the best nature to hike deeper into the forest and found a gem of natural waterfalls that has clear and clean water. The common waterfall where open to public im not interested so much, because for me it does not have the clear n clean water you found deeper inside the forest. To hike in Malaysians jungle i must say, its quite a challenge and its unlike any of the 4 seasons jungle. Its seriously rainforest jungle here with mud and tough tracks.
