My mom didn't think she could get pregnant anymore and did not accept that she was pregnant with me until she was 4 months pregnant and the doctor told her i likely wouldn't make it because of bleeding issues in the womb. This idea of only paying attention to me when someone else saw me as weak was something that carried on throughout my childhood.

Her emotions run deep and she may tend to be very guarded. Your demeanor is probably very, ‘cool’ and surface level. She doesn’t want you to pry but she definitely knows that she can go to you if she ever needs too. You can’t force her to open up to you though. It will only repel her more.
