I am soooo happy that there is a positive Canadian baker! Wilton people sound like they don't want to be there. You make me happy! And your ALSO Canadian Most people are americans and when i look how to make a canada cake. Nothing happens. I am so thankful! Thank you so much YoYoMax12! You rule!
It is really hard to cut up the leaves with all the points in a small size with cake, but I bet a cake pop/truffle texture or cheesecake would work, good idea
The problem is trying to cut out intricate details with cookie cutter, cakes crumbles and it is very difficult to cut tiny details. I'm thinking I may try this with a cheesecake inside a cake. Doesn't that sound interesting?
definitely not a failure. Luv the look of the cake and really luv our flag. thanks for the video. and remember this. For the third year in a row, our home and native land has been judged the world’s most reputable country. happy Canada Day.
I thought of that, but it is very difficult cutting out the fine details of the maple leaf with a small cookie cutter, the cake crumbles easily and all you get is a big red blob.
You actually don't have to cover the red pieces entirely, As long as you filled up to the side of the pieces, the cake would rise and cover the top. :) I have made something similar but with tiny hearts in cupcakes. Thanks for sharing Tammy! :) I love your videos!!
That looks like a pretty powerful hand mixer you have. I'm jealous. Just out of curiosity, would you ever buy one of those hefty kitchen-aid stand mixers? They look great but they're so expensive. Anyway, awesome recipe, it seems surprisingly easy for a relatively intricate design!
just what i needed. I was looking all over the internet, all day yesterday trying to find one to do and here it is. thank you so much. cant wait to try it out.
would you recommend trying to make your own cookie cutter for the leave with thick foil like you have in other videos,or is the shape too difficult? thank you (:
This is a cool cake idea! Everyone is making USA-themed stuff already and then there's one whole Canada day-themed video in my subscription box. You can avoid the burning by covering the top of the cake with foil when it reaches the desired brown color and let it bake until it's done, but you handled the situation just as well. It'd be really jerk-ish to make this, take it out of the pan, decorate the outside of the cake USA-themed, and bring it to a 4th of July BBQ or celebration. Haha..
Hi Tammy- how did the red cake with sour cream and cream cheese cake taste? I am more interested in making that cake. because I happen to have all the ingredients it needs. Thanks.
Thank-you so much. This time of year I see so much for the 4th of July that this Canada Day cake made my day. Will try this for sure. I really appreciate how to give great advice when testing the recipes. Great Video. Happy Canada Day to you and yours.
What does the cake taste like? Is it very cheesy? Once I made cream cheese frosting and it really tasted like cheese. I don't know if Dutch cream cheese is different from Canadian cream cheese but I don't want my cake to taste like cheese as much as the frosting did... I probably won't make this specific cake but there are other recipes with cream cheese I want to try and I don't want to mess it up :/
I wanted to make a Canadian flag cake with maple leave on each slice but I was so confused on how I do it. Afte seeing all of the American flag tutorial I was like someone needs to make a tutorial for Canada! Thi is just what I needed thank you
Dear YoyoMax12, I've been watching your videos for quite some time now but can you please tell me what you recipe you use for your plain vanilla cupcakes. Thank you!
Tammy I know it is late, but I have not been on your channel for a while, so I just wanted to wish you a Happy Late Canada Day. You did an awesome job on making this cake :-)
CUTE!!! Hope you and your family have a Great Canada Day!! Where I live we celebrate with a big street parade & fair and a family Bbq. My town's birthday is also Canada day so we have a Princess Pagent and the crowning of the Canada Day Queen is the evening at 7 pm then fireworks at 10 pm!
Oh Canada our home and native land true patriot love in all our sons command, with glorious hearts we see the rise the true north strong and free oh Canada we stad on guard for thee OH Canada we stand on guard for theee! Love you Canada
I was just thinking but couldn't u do the same thing but use a small cookie cutter for the Canadian flag and then do it the other way in the loaf pan, so that everyone can get tht half size pce but still have the whole flag in it ???
That's sooo cool!!! Does the sour cream affect the taste??
LOVE the little surprise inside that's adorable. HAPPY CANADA DAY! ;)
omg my two fav baking youtubers :D

Hey yoyomax12, did double-baking affect the taste and texture of the red cakes inside? Thank you!
this was not a fail at all, it looks great! :D happy canada day!
i'm impressed that you could put the already baked cake in the fresh batter & bake it again! very cool. Happy Canada Day ;-)
I live in Canada too! I hope you and Max have a great Canada day! :D
would you recommend trying to make your own cookie cutter for the leave with thick foil like you have in other videos,or is the shape too difficult? thank you (:

That was so awesome, I'm already thinking about the possibilities for Christmas!
This is awesome! I will definitely be making this for Canada Day!
Yaaay, I'm Canadian, happy Canada day everyone!
The red cake doesn't become super dry from the extra long cook time?
will the red cake get over cooked by getting baked twice?
I tried it and it was very difficult because of the shape

Very cool! Could it be done long ways with a smaller leaf, do you think?
Why didn't u use cream cheese for the minecraft cake? Did that cream cheese already have a smiley face on it when u opened it or did u draw it?
Hi Tammy- how did the red cake with sour cream and cream cheese cake taste? I am more interested in making that cake. because I happen to have all the ingredients it needs. Thanks.
Hi I was just wondering can vanilla bean paste be used instead of vanilla extract!!!!
Would you just be able to use thick cake batter instead of a boxed cake mix? I'd like to make this but I'm not the biggest fan of boxed cakes.
Thank-you so much. This time of year I see so much for the 4th of July that this Canada Day cake made my day. Will try this for sure. I really appreciate how to give great advice when testing the recipes. Great Video. Happy Canada Day to you and yours.

This is so cool my mom is Canadian but we live in the US. I'm going to try this thank you!
Does it really matter if you ommit a 1/3 teaspoon of oil ?

Is happy cream cheese a real thing, or is it regular cream cheese you draw a face on ?
"You're gonna add the following. Things"
Not sure if that was intentional, or a slip-up that you left in, but it got a giggle out of me.
I'm not Canadian, but I want to try this! It's really cool!

When is your contest ending?
Is therefore really happy cream cheese?or u drew it?:-P

Looks so good I'm definitely trying it
Could we do the same but going the long way of the loaf pan? That way we can have smaller slices but still have the entire flag on it?
If you don't like sour cream can you use something else?
