This song really represents a special kind of bond. In any of the previous Touhou games, the fifth boss was normally just the main villain's personal guard, therefor the theme's were somewhat dark. This one however... It represents the friendship between Rin and Utsuho, how the cat doesn't want her raven friend to get into more trouble, therefor fighting the heroine to see if she is worthy of saving her friend. Simply beautiful ~

This is my favorite Touhou boss theme of all time. It somehow manages to be cheerful and melancholic at the same time, and it's beautiful. Some great remixes too.
Oh Rin. Your adorable kitty persona. Your incredibly cheerful and spirited personality despite such a gruesome job, being a happier and more hyper-active character than most. There is no way that she should have been able to do so. There is no way Satori allow it. If someone discovered underground on this floor, the oni probably take care of Utsuho. Amazed by the transformation her friend had undergone, Orin began to plunge into a forbidden art. That art was prohibited as driving the vengeful spirits above ground. If she could force some sort of incident with the demons out of the ground, something that would definitely change. She was trying to get the demons out of the ground to help her, but what finally appeared in front of her was a human being above ground. That human was unexpectedly strong, and moreover, it is specialized in demon extermination. If she is really so strong, Orin thought, she might be able to deal with Utsuho. All it would be well if Orin had just gone to the Satori, in the first place, but she thought it would be better if she tried to hide what she was doing Utsuho. If Satori had discovered the Utsuho plan, she thought, she did not waste time dealing with Utsuho ruthlessly. Of course, that was not true, but just as children are afraid of their parents who find their secrets, Orin afraid of Satori discover about her. Orin was a bit 'of Satori in awe." You may think that Orin has only exaggerated, but I believe that even Satori could not beat Okuu, since it's mplied that Satori is much weaker than Orin and Okuu. Rin has learned a forbidden art, she has fought 4 times to protect her loved ones, and saved Gensokyo from destroyal. And no one gave her a medal, because she never said or asked anything.

Orin has slowly morphed into one of my favorites, if not my favorite, 2hou character. And I fully expect this to change the more I play more games, the more I read more things, the more I hear more songs. Because, truly, this is what Touhou is all about! ZUN knows how to make good characters...

Utsuho, hard or not, is incredibly intense. It's an amazing fight. Her on-your-face patterns (mostly her non-spells) are so well coupled with her overwhelming, sometimes erratic patterns (Mega Flare, Hell's Artificial Sun etc) that it's hard not to get involved. You may think it's easy, but calling it pathetic is something else. It's one of the best final bosses in the series.

Shou still is hard. Clownpiece has one hard af spell (Flash and Stripe), and so does Shou (Most Valuable Vajra). On the other hand, almost all of Shou's spellcards involve RNG (Radiant Treasure, Absolute Justice, Demon of Purification), not to mention her nons (curvy las0rs!). Despite that, I still think Flash and Stripe is the most evil thing in LoLK (beats even Junko's timeout BS), and Clownpiece still is harder than Shou. However, on Lunatic…I haven't gone that far, but Shou seems as crazy as Clownpiece there. All in all, Shou's still hard af. :>
I've got two cats that get into fights a lot, as well. One has claws, and has lived with us since roughly 2000. The other doesn't have claws, and we adopted it some time in 2008 or so. They'd figure out a way to use their combined dominion over cute in order to take over the world.

the beggining reminds me of gangster's paradise a little bit
@rockerman47 I know the pain... I do the same on Normal difficulty, but the stage and boss theme is AWESOME!
@rockerman47 The most bullet-hell-like stage in all of Touhou.
