Dimash works with energy & transmits through sound, I’m convinced of it. I am easily moved with music. However- I’ve NEVER had a singer affect me so physically as Dimash, no matter what he’s singing. He communicates to a deeper part of us. You don’t need to explain it. I just hope you don’t try to close yourself off from it. There’s too much magic there.

This was another very enjoyable reaction. This was his 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts.
Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh TH-camr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies.
This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him.
There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. The video does not show Dimash's height of 192 cm. At the concert, the combination of a huge man with a range of 6 octaves causes a clouding of mind.

And then there are Without You, Love Of Tired Swans, Where Love Lives, Unforgettable Day, I Miss You, Passione, Give Me Love, Marigold, Golden, Mademoiselle Hyde, Screaming, Tu Vas Me Détruire (duet with Sundet Baigojin), his latest music video “Be With Me”, just to name a few. His latest songs “Fly Away”, "Stranger", and “Ave Maria” just debuted live at New Wave 2021, and the latter two are on a whole new level. Just avoid any performance from "The World's Best" show/competition. The producers' conduct was disgraceful and unprofessional, and all performances were cut and edited to make room for commercials.

Another superb reaction to the GOAT in the minds of most and yes he is only scratching the surface as many will tell you. I noticed SOS has gotten nearly 19K likes in 3 days and is currently in second place with videos a few years old. I do believe Dimash is the X factor you need to help push you over 10K subs. Man it’s only gonna get better. Try “Hello” by Lionel Richie done on the Chinese show The Singer, you can hear him sing in English in the competition which he came in second if you can imagine that. When you get to “Autumn Strong”, and I recommend the video with the background story, you might need some Kleenex if the last two messed with your eyes and that could be said of “Marigolds” as well, they show his mom in the crowd during his song. 😭

Dimash is a high fashion mode for sportsman ad has acted on tv in his country Russia ad China. I’m just mentioning the acting because he becomes a character in the song or is the song. Opera singers are taught to use vibratoall through out the song building up to the end of a note or phrase. But dimash doesn’t I put vibratoike classically and eve pop singers pop puts ivibrato in he uses it whe he wats to. Till I found him I understood how I thought singers retrained tdo. Also the looking at Your audience thing he just picks ad chooses that.

Hi Shawny, great reaction! You will find that there often is a back story to Dimash’s songs- Jens Randolff has some great information about this song in his comments . I will briefly add that some consider this a tribute to a lead singer who passed away in 2015. Dimash is singing with the band- I don’t remember the name but Jens Randolff included it. That is one reason they look so serious.
