I honestly think Duos is the perfect game mode for competitive but c'mon it's been 2 chapters now... With Solos everyone would always compare it to World Cup and at this point that's never happening again unless Epic makes a perfect Chapter then on top of that announces the biggest prize pool ever. They probably just want Chapter 1 to remain the best in everyone's mind and as long as millions of people play nothing has to change... just know that it can and will when they want it to.

EPIC are shooting themselves in the foot by not catering to the comp sphere more. Developing a proper tournament creator UI could easily be geared towards earnings along the same lines as mapmakers... have a proper UI with all the options and integrations for prizepools (connections to buying vbucks, item shop items, and even facilitating cash payouts to custom tournaments) can trickle in money, having a community of bigger and smaller tournament makers and orgs doing events is a somewhat untapped marked from EPIC's side, and also the amount of free research data on popular formats and tweaks is enormous...
