    Dang, your buddy is braver than me. I would never ever run wheel adapters just so I could have a bigger tire. I run 19.5 wheels and tires on my 3500 Ram, the same size tires that are stock on your 5500 Ram. The only reason I did that was to have tires that would last longer and get a higher tire rating, but the good thing about these wheels that I bought is that they didn't require any type of wheel adapters, they are direct bolt on.. I can only imagine how much fuel he is wasting running those big tires and wheels plus the added weight and stress he's putting that truck through. He should have gone with 19.5's like I did, but hey.. it's his life and his truck, more power to him 🚚 👍

      @benitosaenz90 yeah if you're going to go Ram Cummins you need to make sure you get the aisin transmission. The Chrysler 68rfe isn't a very good and reliable transmission. The reason I say to get the Asian is because it's more of a medium duty Trans.. I tow every day with my truck up 30,000 lb and sometimes more, and this transmission has been very reliable, and I'm at 240,000 miles

    • @riosautotransportllc
      @riosautotransportllc  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’ll let you know if I start a mentor program. Basically keep your overhead as low as you can, maintain your equipment and give your business card to everyone who may need a vehicle transported. Working for yourself you get out what you put in. If you work hard you’ll do well.

    I have a question I think I heard you guys saying the bearing should be around 140 to 150 degrees....how about in hot weather around 110 degrees is it bad for the bearing to be at a higher temp like around 170 to 180

    • @riosautotransportllc
      @riosautotransportllc  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s important that all are around the same temperature, if one is running higher you may have a problem.

    • @kuerno832
      @kuerno832 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Use high temp grease to help with heat and stay on top of your bearings look them over.

      @@kuerno832 I did just put new bearings and red grease high heat and noticed 1 wheel side running hotter than the others 175 degrees and all others were in 140 to 150 range the temp in AZ was 105 degrees

    I’m out of Florence South Carolina 23 yrs old, starting my own car hauling business within the next year along with going to school 3-4 days out the week. Ideally I would want to car haul after 12-1 pm after class and get home before 12 am everyday, would I be able to bring in 3k plus a week at least in my first yr? Is it lucrative enough for me to float through college with my own hot-shot car hauling? Or would dump truck, box truck be something for me to look into? All and any advice would be appreciated.🙏🏽

      It will be difficult with your schedule, some locations only allow pickup and delivery prior to 3:30 pm weekdays only. You also need time to look for loads until you find direct clients.

    Hello there I have my own Ram 3500 dually truck and 35+5 gooseneck trailer. I live in Roseville California and would love to start hauling cars or anything else I could possibly find preferably from Northern California down to Southern California and back. Unfortunately I have no idea where I need to start from or who I need to contact in order to find these dedicated runs. I was wondering if you have a moment of your time that you could possibly reach out to me and tell me what it is that you require or think it is that I would need to do in order to get myself up and running. I don't have an MC number or nothing like that yet and was even wondering is there a way I can get into the business without having to get the insurance which seems to be super pricey?

    • @riosautotransportllc
      @riosautotransportllc  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In order to haul cars you will need the expensive insurance there’s no way around it. My policy was almost 20k my first year and reduced to $5,400 my second year. First thing is figure out what equipment you want and how much it costs. I don’t recommend you buying everything new with loans. You don’t want a high overhead.

      Oh nice check out run buggy and cars arrive network
      Stay away from those semi tires there too heavy run 19.5 on the bigger 4500 or 5500 ram. ram has a bad issue with the studs breaking so always torque them to the right speck on all ur wheels truck and trailer. I ran Texas and I always kept an extra axle with me. Because of convenience that mini 5 is a problem trailer. Too narrow
