- Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel of veterinary videos!
In this video I talk about ONE amazing over the counter medication that you can buy and use if your dog is vomiting. This medication is called Pepcid, or the generic name "Famotidine" which is an H2-receptor antagonist used to reduce gastric acid and decrease stomach and intestinal upset. This medication is given once a day. If after using this medication and your dog continues to vomit, is not eating, lethargic and sick, please go to your veterinarian. I have a boxer who has a sensitive stomach. So A. Don’t switch their diet too often or at all.
B. Pepcide (fermodadine) oral pill put inside their food. Settles gas to prevent vomiting.
C. If violently vomiting then take dog to the vet ;) thank you so much!!

Thank you. My dog Rufus is sick..just saw him vomiting outside earlier and he isn't acting like himself. I will give it 24 hours and if he's not better by tomorrow I'll call the vets. He IS drinking water however and is laying on the bed at my feet now. So hopefully he will feel better soon. He got something and ate it-I'm thinking a chicken bone or something that wasn't supposed to be on the floor.

I gave my dog one and a half meatballs, and he’s puking everywhere. I’m unsure what’s going on, but I know I’m never going to feed him meatballs again..

@@drlindsaybutzer May I ask, if he acts normal but he throw up 3-4 hours after eating? Do you think it is because off heartburn too or something else. I live far away from town and I’m trying to treat him while his appointment is coming up. I fasting him for 12 hours then fed him a little. He seen fine then a few hours later he threw up what he ate early but less.

My dog vomited all the food that he ate last night.
Your dog cannot tolerate your cooking. Pribably bad tasting food for poor.
If you treat them people food... this is the biggest BS vets are spreading.
Our dog lived to be 18 years old and all she ate was people food, we didn't feed her any dog food, just what we eat, we just make sure we make more of it and she ate same things, soups mainly.

I love the mini schnauzer! I used to have one but he passed away from congestive heart failure 😞. I will sure try this medicine at home with my poodle. He has been sick and been to the vet and they gave him nausea medicine. But I will go buy some Pepcid .

Hello miss , we have a 6 year old female yorkshire terrier and from aproximative 5 month she is vomitting every night between 20:00 21:30 . We went with her at all the best doctors in Romania ,and they made her ecografy at her belly ,blood samples , Rmn to entire body ...everything is ok...
We changed her food several thimes and we buyed also antiergic food ...
Before vomiting her belly is contracting a lot and get inflated and he is vomiting white foam
After vomiting she is hungry and wants to play.
We really are without any options....

He's been vomiting once or twice a day for 4days now and we called the vet he said it's the side effect of dolonex n told us to stop it we ve stopped yest but he continues to vomit. What shall I do?

Our dog is vomiting and the vet says she has an infection and gave us medication. We can’t get her to keep it down, and every time she drinks water she pukes it up so she can’t drink. The vet knew that she couldn’t drink but waved it off as something that would fix itself as the infection goes away…but if we can’t get anything down her throat without her throwing up, what do we do?

I have a female golden retriever, 3year old. She is vomiting yellow foamy liquid daily from last 4 months. Her all the test reports are normal, we have done blood tests x-ray ultrasound. I nearly consult to 9 vets but there is no improvement. We give medication for acid reflux, medicine like pantoprazole, Ranitidine, Sucralfate, perinorm and also medication for liver and kidney function but nothing is working. I also changed her diet & started gastrointestinal food but vomiting remains consistent. Please if you can help me & suggest what should i do now.
This helped my calm down a lot, I have a Boston and she’s been throwing up all day and I was freaking out, I also have cancer so I already have some Pepcid at home so it helps me save some money!
oh no im sorry about your cancer, praying for you! And yes use the pepcid but get a vet appointment locked in just incase!

Thank you Doc for this tip. My furbaby ate grilled swine lung this evening, few hours later she felt lethargic and was vommitting 4x consecutively. We were worried sick. We gave her some oral dextrose mixed in her favorite cerelac. She was feeling kinda better. Will eventually take her to the vet.

My cocker spaniel was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. She is on thyroid pills . She has problems with ear infections also.The last few days
she threw up but acted normal…The next day she was eating and feeling fine but started to drink a lot of water..See was acting very anxious and kept me up all night. The next day she started vomiting up her food …..She has no appetite now. I’m continuing to give her Thyroid pills twice a day….Could this problem be from her hypothyroidism affecting her digestive system.?

My mini Schnauzer has been feeling poorly due to being fed tomatoes and rice yesterday. She has tried to vomit but only did this successfully once. She is now drinking water with mint and seems to perk up a little bit. She hasn't eaten anything all day and is very lethargic. Hopefully she gets better tomorrow otherwise a trip to the vet will be made.

Well she just went to the corner of the room and slept. We decided to take her to the vet and they gave her something and then moments later the vet hand fed the dog with the dry dog food. It was miraculous.

Hi my dog is a siberian husky, it's been 2 days since we got him from the dog breeder. He's now 2 months old. When he came to us he drank a lot of water from the cat's water bowl then a few minutues later he vomitted clear liquid. He's stool is like "creamy" natural color brownish yellow. But he is active and we dont have a problem with his appetite he eats a lot but we measure his dog food of course..

My dog was vomiting frequently until I visited the vet. They recommended the bland diet which consists of boiled chicken breast and rice with no seasoning. That is pretty much all I feed her now and she never vomits, she also scratches a lot less. She does tend to have a sensitive stomach so she still has frequent diarrhea, but I tried a lot of things and I can't seem to stop that.
