I love it! You are my #1 source for GarageBand knowhow. I actually wish there was a way to attach it to a true mic stand as well because I sing better when standing. I love the different polar patterns and eliminating the need for the audio interface is my top reason for considering this microphone. The price tag isn’t bad considering all that it packs in making the need for different mics unnecessary if the range is good.
Wtf were they even thinking? Literally the main reason I won’t buy it… it means we have to have a powered mixer as well … unless there’s an instrument to 3.5 mm adapter?
Thanks for this video, extremely useful. I am on the lookout for a mic to connect to my mobile device for live stream with my band on Facebook and Insta. Would you recommend this mic? It be picking up the sound from the speakers. Thanks 🙏
Very useful, Patrick! I'm glad you covered the negatives because with a mic at this price range of course there are gonna be quite a few drawbacks. Nice that it doesn't need a camera connector kit or USB hub. Does it draw a lot of power while being used without the separate power supply?
Cheers Gav. Not as much as you’d think. It can run off of an iPhone’s lightning port without any extra power which I found quite impressive. IK’s external power plug is only 3A also.
I have an audio interface connected to my ipad, I’ve got the Steinberg ur12, and I was wondering if it would be possible to hook up this mic into that audio interface? Or is it limited to just lighting and usb
Did you use the mic to create the video or only feature it when you were singing in a higher register at the end. I really wanted to hear what it sounds like on a speaking voice.. thanks!
I bought one out of the gate and returned it almost immediately. I loved the idea in theory, but either I got a defective unit or the quality was just really poor. I tried several devices, several cables, and several sets of headphones and I repeatedly ended up with mediocre results. The headphone output was useless (so quiet) and the sound clipped even when levels didn't get into the red. I sure hope I just had a bad unit.
It is a VERY hot mic. I rarely had to push it beyond 40% for it to start clipping and having to either move it away from my mouth or drop the gain dramatically.
@@thamilanban I'm not sure what I did, but I just muted the mic and played back my recording and all of a sudden it now works. I even unmuted the mic (so it's hot/live) and it still works. Seems like there was something glitchy but it's working for me now.
Does it cancel the iPad built in mic? I understand the built in mic is always on. Every iPad interface I’ve tried, the iPad mic still picks up background noise.
Hello.. I’m trying to figure out out to play music from my iPad via aux in.. I use iPhone for broadcasting and was planning on using iPad for music to play during some episodes.. please!! How do I do this?

You nearly lost me with the AMSR eyebrow raise but this was a good rundown of the unit!
Great presentation again. Love the mix of gimmicks and serious information.
Cheers, appreciated!
Missed this somehow. Thanks for the vid!
An instrument input would have made this a killer piece of kit.
Looks like it has one. 3.5mm input.
Dude, Mini jacks are useless for guitar/bass players…

@@ryanfparrsongs there is
@@ryanfparrsongssometimes I connect a 3.5 out from my mini amp. I could see doing that on the go.
Thanx Patrick you're the best
Thanks for watching!
Great overview - thanks Patrick!

Will look into this via the link. Thanks !
LIke you say …. It shines if you just want a simple set up to record straight onto iPad …… nice one!
Great but shame there isn’t an XLR out as well.. and the proprietary connection instead of USB-C out is a bit of a pain if you loose that cable.

Can I use my guitar to the aux in input? Can I control the volume of it?
Hey, I have the headphones connected and can hear when I record. However, I am unable to hear playback. Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere?
Can it be connected to the MIDI input of an interface? I use a scarlett with midi in but im not sure if it’ll work that way
No, you’d bypass the interface and connect it to your machine directly.
Doubt I will be rushing out to buy one but nice review.
Can music be played back from the DAW and listened through the headphones?
Were you able to figure this out? I'm having the same issue.
@@stevenroth8950 No, mate.

Yes, you need to select is the input in your DAW

Hello there: does this device send a stereo signal to GB? Can I get a stereo signal into my DAW or only a blended mono signal?
Unfortunately it is not powered through USB so it is not that mobile after all. Would be interested in what you suggest to use with iRig HD2. Thx!
What do you mean it’s not powered through USB?
@@TheGaragebandGuide you do not need an extra power source
I still love my H2N 😂

Honestly, the sound test speaks for itself… This thing is garbage. Very discrediting to the man behind the channel. Bery obvious bias
In what way am I bery obioubsly bias in this video?
@Seanburke the sound test was above average. I don't know what you heard but you definitely need new speakers or a new hearing aid.
