Look delicious great idea to add extras to the mince meat.I use my pastry straight away and have done for 60 years and it’s easier to roll. Lard or tree make the best short crust.A very happy Christmas to you Susie and your family 🎄🧑‍🎄🎅

Thank you Christine, I think the only time I rest pastry is when I am doing all butter pastry , then that is easier to work with but I always use shortcrust straight away . Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas xxx

Hi susie, how many tablespoons of water do you use per ounce. Approx. I don’t blame you John try them while hot and fresh, it may take a few before your really sure hehe. Yes I do have those drawers, mine is called a husband on one of his clear our sessions .hehe.
Your granddaughter is very pretty. Your finished pies looked lovely.
Happy Christmas to you all, enjoy have a little break will do you good. Xx

Hi Karen , I think in total I used about 5tables spoons of water , I will be honest it seems to vary each time 😂😂 , there was 300 mls in jug and I still had water left so I think possibly 200 ml s . Good job I froze some as we have ate all the rest 😂😂 . Have a good Christmas xxxx

@@cookingwithsusie haha I am not surprised to be honest they looked lovely. I asked you the question about water as so many people suggest different amounts, I am about where you are I think. A bit of self judging really, as different flours seen to need different amounts of water I find.
Some people use an egg instead of water, haven’t tried that one yet, but that pastry looks nice.
Time for you chill, make sure you do it and enjoy a little rest. What line of work is your granddaughter in. Our granddaughter is currently at uni. I left school with my qualifications, but when I look at the work Lauren does it really is way beyond me, my hubby is very clever, very, and he can always help out with any concerns or questions, and he is older than me, I think I must just be a bit thick. Hehe.
      Again enjoy Christmas together.

“Trex is the UK’s no.1 dairy free alternative to butter for use in baking.
Loved for its versatility, Trex is lower in saturated fat than butter - and you can actually use 20% less. Trex adds extra lightness to cakes, makes your biscuits crispier and produces perfect puddings and pastry.” That is their official statement
