You can use tp-link Kasa thru it's app and not connect it to Google or Alexa. It's nice to set it to schedules. It's about the same price as those remote controlled ones. The perk to the wifi ones (like tp-link) is the ability to access when you're not home. I like being able to turn on my lights remotely so I'm not getting home to a dark house.

If you get chilly with all the windows, you can light a couple of candles and place them around the room, get a heated throw. I've used a Dutch heater kind of set up with several candles set up under a couple of upside-down clay pots. It really works!

I was doing my makeup yesterday and my husband was nearby and he could smell it while I was blending.
