The way you describe stuff makes it really easy for us who are newer to motorcycles and trying to do there maintenance for the first time. We salute you sir 🫡
Thanks so much! I try to make videos the kind of videos that would have helped me when I was learning!
...I am GLAD to see someone else uses a service manual and a torque wrench....I always use both. When a person buys a bike or other vehicle the first thing they should buy is the applicable service manual. Thank you...good video...
Hey Rick I really appreciate your comment, thanks brother! It's always good to have peace of mind knowing you're doing it right
@@YouMotorcycle But where do you find the Service Manual? I just bought a '23 T120 black, but can't seem to find a service manual for it. Haynes doesn't have one.
@@scooteroo honestly the quality of triumph service manuals are very good in my experience. I would call up your local dealer and ask them if they can get you one. For the T120, you can ask if there were any changes from the 2020 model, and if not, see if there's an aftermarket manual for that bike if the contents would still apply to yours
Pre fill the filter to save the engine running dry whilst the filter fills on first start up!
Yes you're right!
Subbed. Great video! Easy to understand and thanks for not making it unnecessarily long.
Thanks for the sub! I try to keep things to the point! :)
i am about to do so. Thanks for the tips man! Greetings from southern Brazil.
de nada! :)
Quick and to the point
Appreciate that
Thanks very much! I try to make the kind of videos that I'd want to watch myself.
Excellent. Very helpful, I agree using torque wrench great idea.
Thanks John. Down the road, if people feel comfortable and don't want to use the torque wrench, all the power to them, but I think it's great to start with them for new people who are first getting the feel for their bikes. Ride safe!
Great video, just bought a T120. New sub
Awesome! Thank you! If I ever get a T120 passing through the shop I'll get some content done up on that too :)
great video , just i would refill the new filter till 3/4 of oil to prevent the pump start empty.
Thanks, I agree!
Very good video! Thanks
Hey thanks so much! I'm glad it was helpful
BikerPup gets you lucky like 13 !
Thanks brother. Ten years since I adopted her. We're inseparable.
Awesome !
Thanks for the video. Where can some one pick up the service manual?
Any official Triumph proprietary stuff, like the book I'm showing in the video, you can get directly from Triumph / your local Triumph dealer. If they're sold out or the part is discontinued, you can order a Haynes service manual instead. This one is for Bonnevilles from 2001 to 2015. I have both the factory service manual and the Haynes manual and both are great: amzn.to/3H0Gdwu
@@YouMotorcycle awesome. Thanks. I have the Hayne service manual. I'll talk to triumph to get the Factory manual
@@ziggy7676 honestly if you already have either of them I don't think you need to spend money on the other one. Save it for a nice meal on a good ride :)
How often do you change the oil and oil filter?
Every 1 year and/or 10,000 km (6,000 miles), whichever comes First :)
@youmotorcycle its probably too late to get a response, but i've seen people fill the oil filter with oil before putting it on. your thoughts on this?
It's a good idea. You should do that :)
If the filter is in a straight vertical position, why not fill the filter with oil before installing ? I have always done that and the low oil pressure light goes off immediately.
Good idea, do that. Just measure how much you're putting in there so you can subtract that from how much you put into the filler.
... you do not, fill the filter, prior to placing it on the bike?
Fill it for peace of mind if you'd like to. No harm in being cautious. The oil needs to pass through it to get where it's going anyway :)
Hi you haven’t mentioned how much oil you put in it?
Hey there. It's in the pinned comment you would have scrolled past to leave your comment. It's also in the video description too :)
Awesome video. Anything different for 2016+ models? I have a 2018 T100, planning to do my first time oil change.
Compare it to your owner's manual and see if everything appears to be the same.
Great job with this video. Well done. Did you order the service manual from the dealership? Or is there somewhere better to get one's hands on one of these?
Thanks! It came with the bike but if you can't get it from Triumph you can also get this manual which should be just as good: amzn.to/3ecslms
where did you get the service manual?
From Triumph
What type of washer do we use on the oil drain plug?
Triumph sells a 25 pack, Part Number: T3551092. I just buy them individually from the dealer when I need em.
Do you have a link for the correct crusher plug washer? Thanks.
Not at this time but worst case you can pick it up from your local Triumph dealer
Why don’t you pre fill the oil filter before you put it on?
@@thomaskall1421 cause I'm a rebel, but you should do that :)
Why dont u fill oil filter with oil
good idea, do that
Does it matter how the drain plug washer goes? Noticed that the washer has a flat side and a rounded side
Is that a brand new washer or a used one?
@@YouMotorcycle it’s a new washer. I put it on and worked
What was the torque in pounds?
FULL INSTRUCTIONS: www.youmotorcycle.com/how-to-change-oil-on-a-triumph-bonneville.html should be on that page, or just google whatever unit I said in Nm to lbs ft and it will convert it for you
I don't see links, or names, of products used?
Press the down arrow by the title or look under it you should see the description of the video, everything is in there
He's using a Motul semi synthetic 4t engine oil
@@danteerskine7678 i thought triumph recommend CASTROL OIL !!!
You didn't say how much the oil capacity is. I am sure it is in the manual, but if someone like me is watching the video I don't have a manual
I said in the video that everything you need is in the description under the video remember? Have a look over there :)
