Newer to the game more seriously and I have been playing sephiroth as my younger brother has been playing corrin. We've been improving together and in the matchup feel very similar. Appreciate the info! Never would have thought a charged smash attack would do damage as it charged

* Checks date of video * 1:41 - Is Corrin's F-Smash longer than Byleth's? And, as someone who never played Sm4sh, it's scary to think that SSBU's Corrin Side-B is the NERFED one. Yikes. As an aside, even though they are all guys in FE canon, it always sounds strange to me when people say "he" for Smash's Robin, Corrin and Byleth, as 90% of players seem to use the girl alt costumes and I always think of them as female (and I've never played FE). There's also something quite sad about male Corrin that I can't put my finger on, while female Corrin is waifu AF.

@@corrinfevincenohr I did co-main Byleth and Corrin, but actually use Byleth on Tilt Stick and Corrin on Smash Stick. So, it ruins my brain when I switch between them. Corrin is more satisfying to play competatively, as Byleth is just so... basic (aside from Up-B tricks). However, Byleth is great fun for doubles/FFA and just generally playing like a crackhead. Corrin is just too honest for those kinds of games.
@@Jackaljkljkl yeh. Both of them are fun for me. You may think Corrin is a honest character but from what I’ve seen, many people plays Corrin with no sauce at all. Sure fair fair up air is a basic combo but I’ve only seen good Corrin players utilizing other stuff like Dragon Fang Shot, Instapin tipper, Pin Jump. The usage of Bair movement is how you can see if the Corrin player knows their character or not. But yeah, I love how they both play. I got FP1 several months ago only to pick up Byleth and Joker as new mains/secondaries. I was set on maining Byleth way before the MKLeo effect lol. I’m glad I did 😊
@@corrinfevincenohr My Corrin improved so much by switching jump from a face button to a shoulder button. It ruined years of muscle memory, but having access to left stick, c-stick (i.e. aerials) and jump at the same time is the key to being good at RAR. Given how good her Bair and backwards landing UAir are, RAR is probably more fundamental to Corrin play than any other character. Also, the fact that her D-Smash hits better behind and Counter hits on both sides (apparently, as I never use it) makes me convinced she is intentionally designed to be played with her back to the opponent for much of the game.
@@Jackaljkljkl You would be surprised by how FE characters actually use a lot of RAR for their gameplay. But the only notable ones that use RAR is Corrin, Chroy and Robin. Chroy can do Jab into RAR bair for kills. Robin RAR weak levin bair and sweetspot bair are both good I also recently used much more Down Smash for kills, since I was inspired by Ly's plays using spaced down smash near ledge. When spaced properly, upsmash tipper works rly well for me since it catches some roll options and jump options with the tipper. Corrin counter is actually very fun, especially against Ness recovery. It is definitely satisfying to counter PK thunder like that. Just hang off ledge, wait for the poppt rocket and counter him off the top. I used to have a habit of using counter a lot when I panic, now not too much. maybe not even in a long time. But yeah I never thought of Corrin gameplay being based on fighting from behind. Thats smt good to think about for my future gameplay as well
Another tip from a Corrin main is that; Nair is very versatile for Corrin as it can followup into many other moves. Back hit nair back hit nair into Bair is a great kill option. Not many people use Neutral B but its a very good tool with the stun that can follow up into Side B. The full charged chomp is a solid kill option, even uncharged Neutral B can also kill as well. You can also jump out of Side B which can allow you to Bair/Neutral B, Nair, fair, upair and other options as well. Also, after patch 8.0, Corrin upthrow kills at 150% now. Its used to be 160% prepatched

By the way, you forgot to mention that byleth doesn't have a counter either. 3:34 And don't forget that Corrin has a few invincibility frames at the start of up special and can be timed.
Unlike what I often hear I find it easier (at least as Byleth-main) to juggle in stages with platforms. With my up-air I have a high success-rate to hit when I wait for the moment where they touch a platform.
Really? What if we get another FE fighter in the DLC? Besides, I think FE is underestimated in smash. People say there's too many FE fighters when really It's tied with Pokemon. So, in short, Smash is dominated by RPGs. This is why I'm so glad steve got in.
Bruh corrins up throw is his kill throw. U can probably kill most characters with up-throw at 156%-160%. Please make sure you cunsult an individual who mains or seriously plays a character youre about cover. Although mostly true and informative, I wouldve appreciated a tad more information on how to shut down his special moves effectively. Keep on the good work man.

With Bowser side b, I believe you want to DI down and away. Unless you are trying to not get taken off stage at zero
