    I have never pulled a bolt down. Found your video and had a go. Worked great! Easy too. Thanks for putting in the time to share that vid.

    Thanks! Simple once we see it done. My 455 came with 3bbls - .17HMR, .22LR, & .22WMR -[w/ iron sights]. With the right ammo, & a scope, the .17HMR is super accurate out to 300 yards. The .22LR & .22WMR are accurate [in my 455] out to 150 & 200 yards, respectively.
    I modified my trigger with the YoDave shim & spring. Polished the trigger-sear and now... no creep, & crisp break at 1.5lbs. I love this rifle.

    great instructional video. thanks for making it.Recently bought a second hand brno model 2-e (452) and really glad I've cleaned the bolt. Action is working smoother now!

    I must say this walkthrough was excellent. Just had mine apart using this video. 1000 rounds of .22wmr apparently leave its trace.
    Thanks for the video

    Hello, happy to see you too are enjoying this awesome rifle! As for the trigger, I was also tempted by these internet sold kits but actually found polishing up the various contact part myself soo easy and effective that mine required no adding/changing part to be super light and crisp! Thanks for your comment.

    Exellent video. Thank you oloftaittinger. Had probably 2000+ rounds through my brno mod2 (same rifle only made in the 70`s) Helped me a bunch. :)

    Thanks alot for the kind words. Unfortunately, I only own one 455 with one 22lr and one 17hmr barrel. On this video it effectively is my 22 polished barrel but wrapped with electrical tape wich makes it very practical in the field because weather and scratch proof. Also I plan to try and apply some kind of camouflage to the tape wich will make for a nice removable camo.
    Anyways, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed my video and hope you'll stick around!

    You have very good eyes and are absolutely right! I quickly noticed my brass ejected strangely and sure enough the extractors were reversed... Thanks for your comment!

    Very useful video I have a older but new 455 and this worked great. Thx!

    I think the two calibers is a great idea, definitely set on a 455 TH for my next rifle (when i have the money!)
    If you want to camo your barrel I would suggest either a barrel wrap sleeve, like the jack pyke one or just some good self-cling camo tape. That way there'd be no residue and it would be easily removable.

    HI! I may be wrong but the extractor pins are not identical and In my opinion you have inverted the extractors. But really thank you for the video it helped me very much.

    After adding that much oil, where does the dipstick go?

  • @robertthomas3777

    Can you use an old clean tooth brush to clean and lightly scrub the parts?
    Does shaking the bolt in kerosene help loosen dirt and make it easier to clean.
    How often should this be done?
    Well done.
    Thanks.

    I totally agree the echaangeabler barrel is great in every way, really saved me headakes!
    As for the camo, I don't really have a great need for it but just kind of like the diy approach as commercialy available products are generally expensive...

    Probably best not to dry fire too much though...

    • @RGVShooters
      @RGVShooters 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      CZ says it's perfectly fine to dry fire their rim fires. The bolt is recessed for the rim of the cartridge so the firing pin never makes contact with the rear of the chamber during dry fire.

      Now that, is what I was going to ask, thanks for this tip.
      I've seen many guys dry firing this rifle, and it made me cringe,...so I gringed for nothing ( hahaha)

    • @garnetclews9498

      I dry fire all of my rifles and handguns...... never give it a second thought. I have a good friend who is a gun smith..... he is the one who tells me it’s fine. I am sure that there will be some who disagree but I’m going with the gunsmith on this one.

    Dude, thanks alot for this video. It was just so simple and easy to understand and now I got the confident to do it myself, no doubt. Watched another video that was 30minutes and after that I were still insecure, but now after this video I understood so much more.
    One thing I'm thinking about tho, would it be better to use grease instead of oil on some parts of the bolt? Or will just oil do the job good aswell? Think I will clean this part pretty often, mayby 1time per 3 shootings or something.

    did you spray ..Rem Oil on the bolt before doing all this..just wondering where the oil came from

  • @oloftaittinger
    @oloftaittinger  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello, the lube is some random gun oil sold in most French gunshops/hardware stores but any viscous lube or grease will do (WD40 and variants is too dry and thin in my opinion and evaporates quickly. I recommend bottled lubes for most gun maintenace tasks). Thanks for your comment.

    Very useful video, love the San Andreas theme and subbed your channel! If I could just ask another question, do you have two 455's? Because you have a polished silver barrel in some videos and a black one in others. Are they two different calibre barrels perhaps? as I know the 455 has that ability.

    Do you twist the bolt as you apply downward pressure on the shell casing? It also doesn't seem like a shell casing is the best thing to use,,doesn't it scratch?

    • @oloftaittinger
      @oloftaittinger  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need to twist, it was just to show both angles for the video. Thanks for your comment.

    • @milesj.943
      @milesj.943 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brass will be WAY softer than any of the steel in the bolt, so it might scratch the casing, but never the bolt. Maybe a brass filing or two, nothing that can't be wiped off.

  • @NasalObstruction
    @NasalObstruction 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am trying to understand what he was doing with the .22 cal shell casing..can anyone explain?

      You can use a tyre valve dust cap or any other suitable object to press down on to release the spring tension and remove the safety latch and then extract the spring and firing pin.

    Muy bien filmado, pero no se limpio el alojamiento de la aguja percutora. La aguja percutora no se lubrica ,el aceite con los residuos de la combustion de la polvora crea un pasta que impide la correcta percusión del cartucho .22 y puede provocar fallas. Uso una cz 452 desde hace 20 años .

    Hey there, first of all, very good video, thanks for your work!
    Second, I was wondering, would using Ballistol do the trick for the "Anti-corrosive" oil you put in there? Asking 'cause that's the one I've got :p
    Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

    • @oloftaittinger
      @oloftaittinger  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, the type of oil isn't really critical as long as there is some kind of protecive coat to prevent corrosion and lubricate the moving parts. The only advantage of using thicker oil (like engine oil for example) is that it tends to last a little longer as it sticks to the metal but anything you have on hand like Ballistol should work just fine. Hope this helps.
