I got flawless solo last night and damn I wish I couldve done this. This boss is the worst for me because it takes so long, start getting frustrated and make stupid mistakes haha. Thanks for the video might try a run or 2 on hunter now
You've already got the flawless, but I got mine today and I used long arm during this encounter. Super easy to kill harpies, activate nodes, and it one shots the eyes all in one mag (if you land your shots). Give it a try and let me know what you think!

honestly akelous is more of a test of patience and consistency, but you make it look like a test of finger muscles trying not to get cramps from how fast you're doing stuff dayumm
From what I can see gear is nighthawk with bait and switch perk on cataclysmic, witherhoard, trace rifle. The trace rifle will get you "on your mark" x3 by hitting crits and that will max out the nighthawk damage because of how the critty golden gun works, then hitting wither plus trace rifle gets him bait and switch damage buff on the linear, then he hits the boss with a weighted throwing knife (doesn't matter which throwing knife but you might as well us the critting knife) to get radiant through one of the fragments. It may be out of order but those are the buffs, I didn't see him pick up a well to get the 25% buff from font of might. Then after that they run out of radiance and bait and switch so they quickly hit wither and trace+ dodge for radiant buff again. Hopefully that explains it. Sorry for over explaining I know you didn't ask.

I gotta say that this boss is a patience test to all normal players. I manged to get to 80% damage but it took so long compared to a full firearm that I just snapped. The Harpies dropping heavy to the void didn't help as well...
this boss is the second hardest part of solo flawless cuz it takes so long with killing all the ads (especially harpys) before DPS otherwise the flinch is insane
you could probably 3 phase akelous with whisper combined with a well, triple surge mods, reserves, radiant, and not missing your shots simpler but definitely not a guaranteed 2 phase like this
Could you star eaters then switch to nighthawk? Pop goldie w star eaters active then switch to nighthawk, then break last eye with a knife and then youll have 3 shot goldie w star eater buff and on second rally youll have nighthawk? Or would you lose star eater buff by switching?
IIRC Radiant + 4x Star-Eater is only marginally better than Nighthawk. They do something like 60k more, which I don't believe would make much a difference
very nice but your fragments have me confused. Ember of Torches, Ember of searing, and Ember of Beams. Golden gun is a hit scan supper not a projectile supper, so unless u need the 10 intellect, so I don't see how that fragment helps you, does it help with aiming? Then there is Ember of Torches paired with light weight knife, radiance doesn't stack on itself, so do the 2 combined increase the duration? As for ember of searing, you have no sources of scorch in your build, that fragment is only giving you +10 recovery.
Have you played at all in last 3 seasons? Thats new (like, 10 months old so idk of its still new) solar 3.0 hunter dodge, which makes you and nearby allies radiant.
@@VerEdon yeah I have played in the last three seasons lol, I just never noticed the new dodge. I also just recently learned Arcstrider has Blink again. It’s honestly no surprise I didn’t know about this dodge - I’ve never seen it used in-game and I’ve ran with plenty of Gunslingers. Which also makes sense considering how grossly long the cooldown is. I also feel like you can’t beat the instant reload with Marksman’s Dodge.
@@Sweeneh for me the worst thing is length of animation of that dodge. And tbh whats the point in using that? You just can use that aspect giving radiant when using melee.
you can do this same thing, just have to reload your LFR (due to weakened clear not being available) and changing font of might 25% damage increase with surges mods.
So if you’re a super optimized pc player with perfect accuracy and everything set up with wells together with RNG being nice to you, you might get something like this. And here I was thinking akelous wasn’t gonna be horrible for me for a second if I’d only use a simple trick or something lmao 😂
When you look at the boss health bar, there’s a section that’s glowing/different shade. If you can do enough damage you’ll stun the boss and extend damage phase
You still had time left, if you notice when you jump off you haven't been blasted back nor does the boss' health have a border around it you could have very easily laid more rounds into the boss arguably being a 80-90% 1 phase
ahh destiny 2 the boring game that requires no skill cuz every enemy jumps right in front of you and a.i. makes sure they keep inside your crossshair. that and every boss/sub boss is a stupid bullet sponge...

Yea take your time on it, it took me a lot of phases on both bosses to complete it. All about endurance
Patience is key! Took me 6 phases solo flawless because I played it safe constantly! Don't give up, it's worth it in the end!

Damage phase always lasts the same amount of time. Just depends how quickly you shoot eyes.

When you do a certain amount of damage, the DPS phase is extended. SUPER hard to do solo, but pretty easy in a group.

the boss was stunned, meaning he cant blast him away plus the boss's eye was closed meaning the damage phase was done.
