I really respect that guga actually trys places and gives real reviews. Most big time folks would scoff at the idea of eating at red lobster little on say its good.
Red Lobster was my Grannie's favorite restaurant, so it holds a lot of fond memories. When she passed, she left some money specifically to treat everyone who could make it to the funeral to dinner at Red Lobster afterwards. I'm glad they're out of bankruptcy because it would be sad to see it go.
I cant believe that you like it guga. Its like everyone who grew up on McDonald's and still goes because of the memories. Anyone who cant cook likes red lobster 😂😂😂.
Not going to lie. Was very sus with how much it was played up, but after seeing your review on the steak and the mac&chesse I believe you. Childhood nostalgia can really skew the perceived quality of food.
Mister Guga, the more I watch your vids, the more I appreciate them - I like your humour, I really like your honesty and I just know by watching, I would luuuuuv your steaks. When I worked at a Red Lobster in Florida, one thing I did intermittently was drive to Orlando for the RL at the east end of International Drive. This was a corporate test store and had experimental menu items for dishes they were doing market research on.
I have never seen Lobster and Steak look that good at a Red Lobster...Ever! It reminds of the food ads and when you get you get you lunch, dinner etc its looks totally different.
I agree with you Guga, too many good childhood memories here! I took my roomate (who is from Argentina) to Red Lobster for the first time. He fell in love instantly and thought it was crazy that they had filed for Chapter 11. The food was so good and the service was top notch! We are thrilled that they exited Chapter 11. 👏🏻
Part of Red Lobster going under has also been chain management by peopling buying into it and opening them in various locations too while still trying to bring quality. I don't think people understand that chain restaurants, fast food, and convenient stores are from indiviuals who have bought into it and opened that. To them: it IS their small business. Since Covid, it's hit everyone really, really hard. Supply issues, lack of staff, all of it. I hope Red Lobster sustains because then it just means one more thing gone for us. Guga: you the man trying to keep them going. ❤
Honestly, I'm with you Guga. 😂 I've lived in my town for 10 years, and it's literally standing tradition that when holidays or special days (birthdays/anniversaries) are coming up, my godparents take us to Red Lobster, or order it for a home feast. ❤
Red lobster salad is literally the first salad I actually liked growing up. Texas Roadhouse with there homemade croutons took over 1st place for me but I still remember the server grinding the fresh pepper 😢
I remember years ago when Matt Stoney did Red Lobster's all you can eat. The atmosphere and staff were so friendly and they didn't care at all about the cameras. Just an all around wonderful experience. 👍
I used to work at a Red Lobster when I was 19, in Ottawa, Canada. The pasta was always precooked and portioned in baggies, it was reheated with the sauce ( lobster or crab) in the microwave.
You are a good man googa, when you came to America going to "Red Lobster" must have been living large and now you're trying to save them. I haven't been to a lobster in over 20 years but will go this weekend.
I worked at Red Lobster in the 90s. Such a fun job. People used to get antsy when the cheddar bay biscuits were coming out too slow! And I remember people ordering big plates of those biscuits alone for holiday parties!
Order a Caesar salad with the dressing on the side and dip bits of your warm biscuit into that dressing. Perfect comfort food. Our local Red Lobster isn't on the "to be closed" list for now and seeing your appetizers made me so hungry for some seafood. I'll make do for tonight though with "breakfast for dinner" waffles and sausage. Red Lobster actually makes the best fried calamari than any of the upscale seafood places in town. Those other places always overcook the squid and serve when taste and feels like breaded rubber bands. I think I'll talk my husband into going to Red Lobster this weekend and I'll see if he wants to just sit at the bar and order appetizers instead of entrees.
It was one steak. I’ve actually had a phenomenal NY Strip at Red Lobster. You had a sirloin. That’s your fault. So that place got it medium plus. They usually have good steak. But I love Red Lobster so happy to see you do too.

One of the best jobs and best friends I’ve ever had. The place has since closed down.
7:14 thats a pretty wild reaction to something that was microwaved🤣
Poor Chef Mike. Revolutionized cooking and yet still doesn't get any respect.
As a Bostonian... watching you eat that "chowder", which looks like gruel and enjoying it... is insulting. You should know better Guga 😂❤
Actually, they’re not closing up anymore. But goodbye endless shrimp tho. 🤦🏾♂️
Omg, these comments. They weren't ever closing. The liquidation bankruptcy is chapter 7. They filed chapter 11, which is restructuring. There was never a danger of them closing.
@@MrVovansimthey closed over 100 stores.
Obviously they won’t close after paying TH-camrs to advertise them as “good food “ lol
That was my grandmother's spot as well. I was cool with it.
Wasn't expecting to see Bobby Lee in this video, but was quite pleasantly surprised
Dry age in a1 sauce
Day 700
btw @Guga, congrats on the weightloss. its been some years since i last saw you, but man you've done your body well!
Day 18 of asking guga to dry age steaks in rendang paste
Keep trying… good luck 😎👍
Dont give up man goodluck🤘🏻
Cut the passive aggressive nonsense. Your counting of the days reeks of it. You sound like an entitled child. Not cool.
Give it a rest, bucko
I cant believe that you like it guga. Its like everyone who grew up on McDonald's and still goes because of the memories. Anyone who cant cook likes red lobster 😂😂😂.
Not going to lie. Was very sus with how much it was played up, but after seeing your review on the steak and the mac&chesse I believe you. Childhood nostalgia can really skew the perceived quality of food.
Mister Guga, the more I watch your vids, the more I appreciate them - I like your humour, I really like your honesty and I just know by watching, I would luuuuuv your steaks. I watched another of your vids earlier today of you having Pasta in Italy & it made my mouth water so much (I was in for the day & all I had was a can of Chef-boy-R-dee (however its spelt) spaghetti & meatballs)) and I was so hungry, I just had to cook it up.....actually, probably sacrilege for Chefs like yourself....I nuked it up, but I got such an appetite from your vid, it tasted 5 stars baby and it was straight out of a can !!! I better stop watching your vids or I'm gonna double my weight in a month. Sorry to hear Red Lobsters going Chapter 11, I wasn't aware of that. Anyway, keep on, keeping on with the vids - you make Food Fun my bro !!! 👍👍👍.
I haven't went to Red Lobster in 15yrs. Will not miss it. I live in a land locked state, but we have seafood boil places that I prefer.
how old are you?!
Yeah...just stay there.
Evruthing that brings memories from family and good times whilst growing up , will be the best , always . It’s a big strong tie !
NOW THATS CHOWDER America's Test Kitchen ! Quit making East Coast oyster "soup" and calling it clam "chowder." With chowder you can stand a spoon in it, it is so thick with flour, cream, chunky potato, and potato starch mash.
What are you talking about? Clam Chowder has always been an Easy Coast dish
GM was on point!! The ultimate restaurant shop!
Good food never goes out of fashion 👌🏻
Planning an evening at Red Lobster this week actually! I so hope they can stay afloat it’s my favorite restaurant!
Giga single handedly trying to save Red Lobster.
guga is so happy in this video man i love it
I think Guga loves Red Lobster, heard they were in trouble, and decided to help. He’s awesome.
See Guga say 'she got balls' might be the highlight of my life😅😅😅
First shrimp i ever had was at Red Lobster on a family trip to Florida. Been loving them ever since!
I've never had a bad experience at Red Lobster until the Bill comes! 😂 I freaking Love Red Lobster!!!
I hope your Argentinian friend didn't try the steak haha
@@antimatterserpent hahaha no, we love love Red Lobster but not for the steak
OK I'm watching this at night and my mouth is watering. Gonna get my granddaughter and go to our local Red Lobster tomorrow.
The ultimate feast. Keep it OG. I love red lobster 🦞
I'm so happy bro that you gave a shout out to Red Lobster, I love there food and was heart broken 😢 when I heard they were closing some locations
Much better food than Italy. Thanks for the honest review. Food dosnt need to be super expensive and fancy to be good.
I’ve always liked red lobster personally. Glad to see it’s getting some love!
Red Lobster == The Fast Food of Sea Food! Place is always jammed packed near me, and always good.
The Crispy Brussels Sprouts are AMAZING!!!
I’m not going to lie, the food looked amazing , good job to the team that put this together
You just made Red Lobster some money, cause now I know what I'm grabbing for dinner tomorrow night 😂
Happy Happy Guga😂😂
I used to work at a Red Lobster when I was 19, in Ottawa, Canada. The pasta was always precooked and portioned in baggies, it was reheated with the sauce ( lobster or crab) in the microwave.
Remember in the 1980’s when red lobster was seen as the pinnacle of fine dining? 😂
10:31 The "Why Pastor" being used?! Guga, you are king. Period! That made me bust out laughing!
From bunk A-5 to amazing Cheddar Biscuits. This man knows food.
Beschamel is probably my favorite starter sauce to work with. I think its the most versatile
It was one steak. I’ve actually had a phenomenal NY Strip at Red Lobster. You had a sirloin. That’s your fault. So that place got it medium plus. They usually have good steak. But I love Red Lobster so happy to see you do too.
I love Red Lobster, it's such a great place and great memories growing up and of course date nights with my boyfriend. Cheers from Canada
