@@DIYHonda I finally did it!! Removal and installation of new fender took about two hours. There were two brackets on the old one that were riveted on that I had to remove and basically use tiny nuts/bolts to attach to the new fender. Thanks so much!!! Like new again.

hey do you know if there is a difference in fenders between sedan and hatchback? are they interchangable?
I ordered a fender from Honda but it didn’t come with those two brackets that are rivited onto the fender, those do come separate do they have a specific name, cause what if the ones from the old one are bent and can’t re use them.
Note that the Windshield Washer bottle is on the LEFT side on the Canadian Model. (And it's larger)

Thank you for such a detailed video, Gen X fender looks as if it were created to be disposable, sort of has a plastic toy car feel to it. With everything being bolt on and riveted, I wonder if it actually offers structural rigidity to withstand a 40mph collision, euro NCAP gives it a 4 star rating though. Your thoughts?
It seems like the trend of disposable auto parts is increasing. The fender has little to no structural support. Even the radiator supports on these 10th Gen civics are plastic and don't seem to offer much structural support. When these radiator supports are slightly damaged or cracked they are just thrown out and replaced. Most of the durability of these vehicles comes from the high strength steel used on critical locations such as the side rails. They also have very beefy front and rear aluminum bumper beams that seem to handle impacts much better than previous years.

There is a bracket mounted to the fender in the front, how do you get those nubs to release? My new fender didn't come with that bracket.

@@birajbanker8937 so i ended up having to drill out those rivets -VERY CAREFULLY- and reusing those OEM brackets. I used some very small nuts&bolts to attatch the brackets where the rivets were originally. Also, be aware that there is some impact resistant structural adhesive on the upper bracket. It was easy to remove but I wish I had been aware of it ahead of time so I could have had it on hand. I ended up having to take the fender off a second time to add the adhesive because it did effect the fitment of the fender.

There is an upper and lower support bracket on the oem fender that r riveted on. Cut the rivets w tin snips and secure the brackets to the new fender with small bolts/nuts. Beside that, installation is easy and reverse. I didn’t completely remove bumper (just peeled back 1 side) or headlight so that sped things up. His tip how to install the side skirt was invaluable! Watch the end of that vid. Edit: sorry this is 2 yrs later lol

The quarter panel is not a quarter panel and hasn't been on unibody vehicles for a LOOOOOOONG time. If there is damage to the rear quarter of your car, it is either done for or will need extensive reconstruction.
In the past, there have been "cut it out and replace it with this aftermarket thing" solutions for some cars but note the cut it out part. As in get the cutting torch out and cut the majority of what would have been a quarter panel 40 years ago, out.
As for getting the fender, any Honda dealer can order it in. It will be primer coated at most and you will have to have a bodyshop paint it for you.
Can you place the aftermarket fender on it? And if there is any space can it be adjusted

What is the part that is connected to the front of the fender? Is that one of the bumper beams? I need to replace both of my front fenders and the bumper. The driver side is the worst and unfortunately looks like there were some extra parts that were broken that I'll need to put it all back together.
Are you talking about the plastic piece on the fender that the bumper clips into? Those are typically called bumper spacer or bumper bracket.

I just bought my fender from partify. Took 3 weeks. Painted lunar silver metallic for -260. Paint was not factory quality but good enough. 2 hour install using his vids. Reply if u need help. I have tips.

Don’t need to take off the whole bumper, just peel back one side to get to the bolts. Headlight doesn’t necessarily need to come off either, just 1 bolt that holds it and the fender down. The OEM fender has two brackets on it that you’ll need to transfer. They’re riveted on but you can cut the rivets with tin snips and then bolt it on to the new fender using small nuts/bolts. Watch this guys side skirt removal vid bc at the end he tells u something very important for reinstallation. Also Jack the car up. It makes skirt removal easier. Took me 2 hrs total. Cheers!

Yes. Front bumper. Front headlight, side markers, side skirt
Just partially. Peel off 1 side just enough to get to bolts. Don’t need to take it completely off.

Can an aftermarket fender fit?
This is why I don’t like to buy new cars people can’t drive !
