Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

It's a great job as long as you find a company that you're happy working for. I see technicians and installers jump from company to company all the time but there are those of us who find one place they enjoy and just stay there. As long as you can find one that you like it's like not actually having a job.

Great info.! I installed one of these on the top part of the gable just under my roof with a retractable shade cover to cover it from the hot sun of the day. I cut out my gable vent, opened it to the square opening and mounted it flush to the stucco.I then ran a 18" elbow directly then a 20" metal duct to attach. Then another 18" elbow down about 6 ft. to a 18" wye which attaches to a 20x20 ceiling register. the 18" duct continues 12 further to a final 18" elbow. I really like these because of the three speed motor. We use ours up until 105 degrees. Great product works! and it is Quiet!

Gracias for sharing your knowledge with us and you are right those units do really help I was helping a friend of mine who was replacing the engine on my work truck and it was in a Texas summer when this happened and we were outside under a carport and he have a unit like that and even Texas weather is humid outside it was a pleasure working with cool air and we were able to accomplished the engine installation 😊and I was amazed by how the swamp unit performed so from my experience it really works and you can trust that system but as far is for using it in a living space with the humidity pulling inside your home I don’t know what could be the negative effect but like you said you need to open a window a bit in order to circulate the air and the humidity will have to go outside 😅but for an emergency I think that should be something to consider specially when you have elders or children and you have to protect your family from the bad weather 😮

Had one of these when I lived in Victorville area of California. These really work, but had some issues with scaling had to wrap the pump in a filter material and maintenance the unit once every two weeks or so. Price on these went up by a few hundred, the same unit I purchased four years ago is now a few hundred dollars more. Way over priced.

Amazing tech, so simple. It depends of course on the temperature of the tab water line. If that keeps rising at noon it might not have the same effect. With only 250 Watts operating power I suggest you connect a couple of solar panel to keep the fan blowing. The power station is only a backup solution at night or in case of a power outage. I do wonder what the humidity inside your house becomes and if mold is forming on specific places>

When the water changes phase (from liquid to vapor/gas) is when the cooling happens. The heat energy "stolen" from the hot air outside is the energy needed to cause the phase change.
Don't think the temp of the water will ever affect that.

Out here (15% rH, tops) they work very, very well and easily knock a 100+F day down into the low 70Fs. There's no need for energy hungry AC in our arid high plain which is only just barely not 'desert'.
The higher the humidity, the less well they work and that's unfortunate as 80F at less than 15%rH is very, very comfortable while 75F at Dixie humidity or East coast can be downright miserable.
Great video, I really like this man's work.

If the outdoor relative humidity is under 20%, as is true of much of the Western U.S. away from Great Plains and the ocean, a swamp cooler won’t raise the indoor humidity to that 60% level. I grew up in St. George, Utah in the Southwest corner of the State. It’s the Northwest outpost of the Mohave Deseret with climate 5-10 degrees cooler than Las Vegas. Summer humidity was always less than 10%. Never mind that the area was chronically economically depressed so most could not afford AC. Even high-end homes used swamp coolers. So did the schools. September daytime temps were still ofen in the 80s.
