      @@butryk22 You have some approved routes for specific groups. One example is for Ukranians. Braverman's response when asked by a select committee what legal route was available for someone not on these specialised groups was telling, she couldn't/refused to answer. The key stumbling block and the reason for "illegal crossing" is that to apply for asylum whatever, you legally have to be in the UK, on UK soil.

    • @samhartford8677
      @samhartford8677 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@butryk22 How are you going to break it? The only thing these people need to do, even if asylum applications were made illegal (which is against international law) is refuse to give their real names. The UK needs the countries of origin to issue them passports to move them anywhere. Are these countries' embassies going to go through their (likely) paper records to check out the pictures of thousands of peoples and waste their government monies on that? The Syrians can't even get passports in the UK, because there is no embassy.

      The number of people that would qualify under that policy would be far greater than the number coming now. If you essentially want open boarders, then your suggestion is a good one. If you want some handle on migration, then it is worse. All depends on your starting point.

I was approached by someone who asked me, "Where is Free Bank". They were referring to the local Jobcentre. He saw it as Free Money getting unemployment benefits. When I asked him if he was looking for the Jobcentre he laughed and said, "No job. I come England from France for Free Money like my friends." That was about 5 years ago but now I regularly get told the same thing more often. In 2021, the UK authorities made decisions on 22,890 first-time applications and granted 14,690 of them - 64%.
      France, a country with a population similar to the UK's, made 137,015 decisions, granting 33,875 of them - 25%.

There are then all the cash allowances all the judicial and healthcare implications. Introducing the proposed bill will be a breach of international law.

    Also mostly people coming to uk are from those countries which in past some time rule by british(ex African countries,pak,india,) because in these countries people can speak English but they cant speak French or deutsch.
    As newton says every action has a equal and opposite reaction.instead of making useless laws make English an official language in any European country most people will not come to uk

    No hotels , put them up in dissused army barracks , No cash allowance , give them donated clothes , and food from central canteens but only if they work in the barracks and canteens , cleaning , painting and repairing , cooking and not allow them to leave the barracks until their asylum claim is processed ,
    And if they don`t want to comply with these rules they can get a free plane trip to Rwanda or they can use one of the hundreds of abandoned dinghys to get back to France

    Why do these people repeat the rubbish tabloid headlines they read without even trying to understand them?
    "We pay taxes and we don't know if they go where they should go." - Refugees contribute ON AVERAGE more to the UK than Britons do, simply because their education was paid for already and the UK does not have to pay for it. They are also on average much younger than Britons on average and therefore need much less health care. They could work straight away if the government would let them and it would help with the massive worker shortage and boost the GDP enormously as well as the tax revenue.
    "France is not doing its fair share and just wants to get rid of them"
    According to the red cross: "In 2020, the UK received applications for asylum for 37,550 people (including dependants). This is around three times less than the number of applications received each by Germany (124,380), France (103,370) and Spain (108,225)."
