Good idea just going to make somthing myself as well. I would of liked a bit more footage of the extension part mating up withe the original wheel slot.would the bike wobble less if it was put on the other way round? Have you tried it the other way? Overall good
Check out the link in the description to my MTBR post. You'll have to scroll down to the end of the thread to see the pictures, but I added a second hold down arm for the back wheel that completely removed the wobble. The still shots in that thread will give you a good idea of how the parts align.
This rack works really well on the highway, but the rear wheel wobble at fast speeds concerned me enough that I added a rear wheel hold-down arm from a Thule (Sportworks) Sidearm roof rack. Thousands of miles driven without incident. I hope you don't really hope I kill somebody. That would make you a SirNazi.
