  • My 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme was optioned with almost every single light you could have on the car. I added the clock to make it complete.
    The car is equipped with the extremely rare Night Watch option, which is a timed automatic headlight delay. At the push of a button your headlights will turn on for 50-60 seconds, allowing you to exit your garage and enter your house at night with ease.

    Thanks for sharing. I have a '70 Cutlass Supreme and the light kit option was checked. No night watch option though, which is really cool. Mine has all the other lights and a console which lights when opened and also lights the rear floor board. Great cars.

    I didn’t think I’d watch this whole video, but I sure did. Learned quite a bit. Night Watch is pretty cool. I’ve got a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass as well. It’s a 442 tribute. Blue for now with black interior. We’re gonna paint it metallic Forest green. It’s got a 350 rocket motor, 3 speed on the column for now. I’ve got a 455 big block in the garage, and a 5 speed tremec transmission all ready to be installed.
    I’m in the Chicago suburbs, and the car is from Arizona/California. Very clean machine. Runs, drives and stops great. I’ve actually had the car sitting for about 8 months without ever running it. One day recently, I turned the key and it fired up IMMEDIATELY with no problems. It’s got a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection to thank for that.
    The previous owner fucked with the electrical, putting LED’s everywhere. I even found a stupid back up camera next to the rear license plate. So a wiring harness with be on my to-do list.
    I agree with the tail lights. That’s my favorite feature as well. Thanks for sharing your car. Maybe one day I’ll share some of mine on TH-cam.

    I would love to have this sort of gauge cluster over any modern day LED display any day

    I've got a 70 Cutlass S with the light group and I thought that the "Lights" script above the headlight switch was illuminated as well.

    • @dailyolds1970
      @dailyolds1970  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The script doesn't light up to the best of my knowledge, but there is a hole to illuminate the switch just underneath the script. I totally forgot about it though since mines been burnt out for so long on both my 70s.
      Edit: Took the switch apart and the script and switch light up. Who knew? I sure didn't. Thanks!

    Awesome car!
    I have a question about how the Night Watch works:
    When you turn the ignition off, can you press the Night Watch button before manually turning off the headlamps? That way the headlights aren't turned off then back on again. Thanks!

      I am uploading another video to answer this question, but yes. You can turn nightwatch on with the headlights on. As long as the oil pressure is below a certain point, nightwatch will function no matter what else the car is doing.

      I'm sure you can piece it together with new harnesses and parts. But my car came with it factory and I added it to my Vista from a parts car. So I'm not sure exactly besides ebay and parts cars

    what type of lights are you using for the guages? mine definitely are not that bright

    • @dailyolds1970
      @dailyolds1970  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I'm using normal 194 bulbs. I'm quite lucky that the gauges are in such good shape.

      I would recommend new lenses if they're fogged up. And clean the electrical contacts for the bulbs, gauges and switch. Any corrosion or film will increase resistance and reduce brightness.

    How do you change the bulb in the ash tray and over head? I have two blown bulbs in my 71 S

      The ashtray light I believe you have to pull the glove box liner and it's right there. The dome light is just pop the lens out and replace.
