Excellent brake down of this case. Thanks for sharing. The FOID act is ridiculous. I recommend you read the IL Conceal Carry Act. It gets even crazier.
I feel sorry for the poor dupes who "back the blue." It's that same blue who will be coming to disarm you when the state decides only they can be trusted with lethal power.
I agree. So many people think the police and military will be on their side when things get tough, and they are wrong. In the end, it's every man for himself.
I can just about guarantee this wasn't the responding officer's idea. They gave him back his gun! This is absolutely their sergeant seeing their report, (willfully?) misunderstanding what happened, and forcing them to change their report.
I disagree--a lot of good people have come out of Illinois, and more are coming out every day. Not a lot are COMING IN though. Several of Bill's videos tell us why.
Shame on the Normal Police officers for abusing their authority and lying to get a lawful resident's FOID card revoked. If my mom called me saying their was an intruder in her house that refused to leave, I'd be right over with my firearm too. She called the police but they didn't show up before the son got there. When the police are not on the scene we have to deal with the situation ourselves. I say good job to the son for protecting his mom. Unbelievable.
I live in Illinois, and I absolutely would NOT expect to get away with actually displaying a firearm and brandishing it at a 51-50 subject unless they were physically threatening in an active manner.
As an unfortunate resident of McLean county, which Bloomington/Normal is part of. This is low on their police totem pole of stupidity. Illinois has a rash of bad police officers because they are petty much immune to punishment. Multiple high profile cases they messed up on that resulted in the wrong person imprisoned or wrong person being tried. No news agency reported nationally when they ended an autistic man in Chenoa in the 90’s after ISP told them to end the pursuit. Heck my brother was arrested by a Normal officer in Bloomington for underage drinking when he was 24. Realizing that they can’t charge him with underage drinking. The judge changed the charge to a misdemeanor open container law in the town of Normal. Even though he was arrested in the city of Bloomington where it is legal to drink on sidewalks in front of or adjacent to the venue serving alcohol.
To be clear, the original FOID act didn't have this clear and present BS. It was added with the same 'law' as the Semi Auto and Mag Ban (or a bill rammed thru in similar time and manner). It's a recent change. They are also moving stuff that WAS in the Concealed Carry Act under the FOID law, to try and use the defense that removing the foid removes all this other stuff (because challenges to FOID are in lower courts) .
I live in this town! They arrested a man who was assaulted, stabbed 19 times in his front yard. Then had his FOID revoked. They let the assailant go! I'll post a link to the story.
"We are just following orders" sounds like Gestapo and Stasi. Most, MOST!, law enforcement officers in America today are dirty, in my opinion. Most are not mature enough and do not have the mental acuity to be in law enforcement. In my opinion.
I have come to believe that many of them who were in the military prior to becoming cops are dealing with undiagnosed PTSD and their cop training just reinforces their military experiences and training. Little or no self control and anger management issues are the result.

One of the many reasons I left Illinois a couple of years ago having, lived in and around Chicago for over 35 years.
Kinda scary when I live in that area....
Im an Illinois resident & had my FOID revoked unjustly revoked 3 years ago then had my firearm taken last year for about 1 year and 5 months till i got it back. I hate it here
Seems that we might have some Bobby's Brownshirts in Washington state, too.
I feel sorry for the police once they sign on to such a One way mission...
@@paulemery9733those boot lickers want law enforcement jobs for a reason, because they're psychotic.
@@paulemery9733 well if they are those "law abiding" gun owners then they will just turn them in if the law says they can no longer have them
I agree. So many people think the police and military will be on their side when things get tough, and they are wrong. In the end, it's every man for himself.
Same situation as group together in criminal act when one commits murder, all become guilty of murder.
"I was just doing my job"
And that will be on the tombstone !
Thank you for keeping all of us behind the iron curtain informed on things going on in our state
Body armor only covers the torso. Adjust accordingly.
I can just about guarantee this wasn't the responding officer's idea. They gave him back his gun! This is absolutely their sergeant seeing their report, (willfully?) misunderstanding what happened, and forcing them to change their report.
Amazing that the city and state attorneys would even think that this type of defense would work. There must be some really bad law schools out there.
I grew up in Normal... I recently moved out of that area.. For this sort of reason.. The politics of ISU have sunk into every aspect of the town
It's Illinois. Nothing good has come out of Illinois since Abraham Lincoln.
I disagree--a lot of good people have come out of Illinois, and more are coming out every day. Not a lot are COMING IN though. Several of Bill's videos tell us why.
@@wiscon60joe8I stand corrected. Haha!
Thanks! this is kinda eye-opening. Glad the People's Republic of Illinois gives you so much content to work with!
Thank you sir.
Unbelievable.
hope kuhlman takes EVERTHING (money, house, car, dog, pensions) from these cops !!!
When it comes to Illinois and modern DemocRATS, nothing would surprise me.
I live in Illinois, and I absolutely would NOT expect to get away with actually displaying a firearm and brandishing it at a 51-50 subject unless they were physically threatening in an active manner.
Mind boggling.
Thank you for sharing light on this
Oh damn, I live in Normal. Now I need to worry about crooked cops here?
Man, Illinois sucks so bad!!!
Yes, it does! 😊
Dirty cops? That's new.
Yup that's how they do it
I live in NC and I can guarantee that they’ll do the same thing!! The entire judicial system cannot be trusted.
I live in Illinois. PHUQ JB PRIQSTER
We gotta vote man! You better get to your local voting post and make a difference!
@@timcordier9748 we need to use lead ballots
@timcoit doesn't help when they steal your vote!rdier9748
This whole state is a cesspool!
Not surprised
Normal Illinois is called "Normal" because there was a teacher's college there and those used to be called "Normal" schools.
Normal is a liberal shithole. I work there, so I see it every day.
I thought it was called normal because sandwich was weird.
This is horrifying. But I'm so bleeping happy I left the state
To be clear, the original FOID act didn't have this clear and present BS.
I HAVE BEEN PREDICTING THIS.
Dirty Deeds done dirt cheap
I live in this town! They arrested a man who was assaulted, stabbed 19 times in his front yard. Then had his FOID revoked. They let the assailant go! I'll post a link to the story.
CPD does that kind of stuff all the time
I'm in Normal IL, never heard of this guy. Can't wait to hear the outcome to all of this.
"We are just following orders" sounds like Gestapo and Stasi. Most, MOST!, law enforcement officers in America today are dirty, in my opinion. Most are not mature enough and do not have the mental acuity to be in law enforcement. In my opinion.
It's seems to me that recruiting standards include narcissistic sociopaths
I have come to believe that many of them who were in the military prior to becoming cops are dealing with undiagnosed PTSD and their cop training just reinforces their military experiences and training. Little or no self control and anger management issues are the result.
Not true. There are many nice ones too. 😊
@aquariumdude7829 whatever bootlicker
AGREE!
You don’t get immunity for lying!
The police in normal Illinois are absolutely awful!!! and I’m not a cop hater
What do you personally see them do wrong, specifically?
Not saying you're wrong, but what?
Great walk though of the case and explanation of the laws.
This is why I can't stand dirty cops
A good reason why the Supreme Court should rule against any gun control of any kind .
Normal has a long-standing record for being crooks.
Because that's "normal" in Illinois!!!
