I'm seeing them for the 23rd time on Dec. 15! It'll be my fiancées first Blue October show! We met on FB on a random page that had nothing to do with Blue October, but quickly discovered we have the same favorite band! And tons and tons of other stuff in common. We were long distance for a year and 10 months. She moved to be with me! Dec 2 was our 2 year anniversary. 🥰😁
He’s such an awesome performer. I go to every show he plays around my area every tour!!! Open Book included. He’s come a long way, and is an amazing family man now. He keeps himself in check, with the help of Sarah, Sayde, Gunnar and Blue. I love him so much!!!
I love him so much. I'm so lucky that he has interacted with me a lot. I go to every show in my area too, thankfully he comes to DFW a lot!! I was lucky enough to attend both nights of the filming of the TWDAN live in Texas DVD and you can even see me in some of the crowd shots! At the Home CD signing in Dallas in 2016, Justin took his own phone out and took video of me! That's not even the coolest thing that's happened though! Lol. If you watch the video of Fear from the 2019 show you'll see it (read the description too). And so many other things! I really wouldn't be here without him (and he knows that, I've written him a couple letters which I know he's read), and I know that goes for a lot of people. 💚
nincure So awesome you are in Texas and have the screening opportunity. I’d love to go to that. Got my tix for the HOB Anaheim, CA show May 29. Hopefully, he’ll do another a Open Book Residency at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles again this summer. I love those shows!!
@@eileenheard4444 I know. Even though I absolutely despise the summer, and also really love snow 😂😂 I am so glad that I live where I do because of Blue October. At first I didn't know they were going to have a regular screening directly after the red carpet, but I don't care, I'm glad I bought the red carpet, especially because of what happened in October. That was a big reason why I bought it. Fingers crossed, I am going to try to sit next to or very near Justin! I'm going to ask him. You never know if you don't ask, right? That's awesome you're seeing them 2 weeks after that. I love Open Book too! He used to come every year around my birthday (in about 2 weeks), have you seen my videos of those shows?
I listen to this anytime I'm depressed, or feeling shitty. Hundreds if not thousands of times by this day, depression is a bitch btw, but even after all these times, I still get goosebumps. The intro is ... Such a description of what it's like some mornings. Justin is my idol. He describes how difficult is and he proves you can move the fuck on, he's my inspiration. THANK YOU JUSTIN. We don't have to be depressions bitch
He's my hero! Definitely saved my life. Every time I see him he makes me feel so special. At the show in 2019 at the end of this song he pointed at me and said "I love you so much" twice! I have a video of it too of course 😁. I haven't gotten to see him again yet to be able to thank him. (And there's a long backstory to it too.) I was supposed to go to the red carpet screening of the doc in May and they were playing opening night of a new venue here 2 days later, but obviously that didn't happen! So I'm really looking forward to when I can see him again. They are all such awesome guys though. Thanks for watching! I have tons of other videos of them too if you haven't already checked them out! 💚 (I saw your comment on another one of my videos too so I guess you have! Thanks again!)
That is so awesome! I had tickets as well for the red carpet screening in KC, then that night was suppose to be the meet-n-greet and concert. (Unfortunately, Pandemic happened) I met him at an Open Book in 2019. He was so kind, funny, and genuine. A lot of people once becoming famous, do not have time for their fans. He always makes time. Once I saw him play a concert sick with laryngitis. How he pulled it off, I do not know. He could not speak afterwards, but still stayed to sign autographs. His stories that are shared always touch my heart and are so relatable. I hope that whatever your backstory is, that you know "This too shall pass." Always look forward. and GET BACK UP!
I didn't know they were doing screenings outside of TX. That's cool though. I'm sure they will happen eventually. There's been no indication on a refund for the tickets, but I'm not worried, they don't rip their fans off! Wow, I know he's played shows sick before but I don't know how he could do it with laryngitis! I have been fortunate enough to meet him and the rest of the band several times, and they all know me (except Will, only met him once). That was partially what I meant by backstory. First time I met them was in 2011, but in 2016 I wrote Justin a letter and gave it to him at the Open Book show, and I'm pretty sure he's really remembered me since then. The fact that he said ILYSM came from something that happened more recently though. I didn't even notice that he was pointing at me until after the show. Even the woman next to me said, "that was for you!" He also pointed at me during Say It when he says "you lift me up" the first time, and in another song too. He was looking at me for a lot of the show as well. 6,000 people there including his family, but I really felt special!! Thanks for watching my videos and your comments! Really appreciate it! 💚
@@nincure Yeah, I got a notification to buy a ticket the week before the concert that was scheduled in KC. Ironically enough, I just got refunded by ShowClix 2 days ago for these tickets.
Did you get refunded for the show only or for the red carpet too? Also I don't know if you saw my whole long comment, I split it up and just noticed it says "read more" right after I said they don't rip their fans off. I haven't gotten refunds or notices for either.
I'm a bit partial to the version he did in 2019 (for personal reasons, because of the ending though) but the intro was pretty much the same! Thanks for your comment! 💚
Thank you everyone who is watching my videos! Please check out my playlists, I have almost 200 Blue October/Open Book videos, as well as many other bands/artists. Unfortunately due to the pandemic I have no idea when I will be able to get new content, so I REALLY appreciate all the views, likes, shares, and new subscribers!! Thank you for reading and again thanks for watching! 💚
I have a few different versions of this song that he tells a different story about beforehand. I guess this one is really popular though! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@nincure I would go further and ban phones and cameras too...just my opinion, for me drinking and phones take away all the impact of a gig, I go to watch, listen and capture that moment in my mind and someone with a glaring screen next to me or stinking of beer somehow kills that moment !
Can't wait until I see them live, March 11 baby yahoom
Awesome! If you've never seen them, you'll be blown away!
@@nincure looking forward to it taking my adult daughter. 🙂 in Toronto.

@@nincure Awesome story, 23 times wow. I haven't even been too that many concerts in my life lol. I guess that makes you a super fan 👍☮️🇨🇦
I've been to just over 200 concerts, I'm on my way to one now! I am late on putting up a lot of stuff from 2020-2022! I gotta get off my a$$ 😂

I agree. Any mental illness for that matter. Hugs to you.
Thank you so much for capturing this, as was talking about that very speech to some friends.
You're welcome!

Just what every ex alcoholic or drug abuser needs...a guy in the audience waving a can of beer at you !
I freaking hate that!! So annoying.
