- This is my walkthrough of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim with no commentary, english subs and on PS4 PRO. The game is supposed to launch with English voices but for some stupid reason it's not available on the disc. You have to wait for the day 1 patch it seems. It's a stupid move imo. Even the trophies are in japanese. I can't even understand what the trophies say lol. Got to wait till Tuesday for english.....Till then English subs guys. Sorry.

So apparently the English voice recordings are pushed due to the pandemic. That's sad, but the japanese voice acting is amazing so I will continue with english subs. Loving the story. It has a fractured timeline so got to stay attentive to all the story details lol. Wish the combat was in 2D or 3D with actual sprites instead of weird holos.... Enjoy :)

I was under the impression English VA was coming as a Day One patch
I prefer Japanese dub with subtitles. English dub usually screws screws up the story/script and things get lost in translation. Only a few English dubs end up being on par or better than the Japanese voice acting.
TBH, there are some people who will prefer sub over dub.
I'm sure you know by now, there was a day one patch. I played it in english from the start, but I think both sub and dub are AMAZING!
Tbh I would just enjoy it first and then go through it again to understand the story (or like watch it in chronological order)
playing this in pure japanese and translating everything, but it's tough and taking a long time. i see that even in english, the story is hard to understand! these videos are really so helpful for confirming my understanding of the story and text, so i hope you continue with this playthrough.

Game looks plain during battles because it was originally a Vita game that was canceled and then remade for the PS4.
Mecha game which is highly praised for an interesting story and its twists.

Games like this are no fun to play, maybe when you are 10 years then it’s nice. Hate gameplay like this never play them

So this game... Is it very reliant on controls (the combat part)? I'm just ffw my way through this to see if it's my cup of tea, quite a few people recommended it, but it just doesn't look like my thing and the Switch-pricing feels a bit much. The only actual "game" part is the battle sequences? It's like a slightly more interactive VN?
Story scene is good but combat is...hahaha
They should have went full visual novel/adv. No strategy gameplay, and it'd have been perfect.
it reminds me of a lot japanese game called mu luv alternative way back 2003
They had to delay the recording of the English audio due to the lockdown, and apparently you can't just add in the English dub like that.

I really hope we get another game like this, and I wish they had just went full fledged visual novel/adv. Would have been killer. Like, the combat/gameplay just isn't great. The interactive story is.
kind of a shame they didn't bother making a Fire Emblem/ SD Gundam presentation for the combat

I love everything I saw In this video except for the battle visuals .. it’s so empty for me. I wish it had similar visuals to Super Robot Wars. Apparently it has a better story and between battles activities, but the battles are so weird man 😩..

Haven't played many Japanese style games the past few gen but this seems to be trying new dimensions like the mech GPS battles which aren't seen before. I would appreciate an open world with 3d roaming elements and exploration with a dialogue tree system like Western rpgs the best ones. Also designing and naming your own char.

I heard on a podcast how this random game has lots of oversexualized anime cliches, so here I am out of curiosity... and yeah, indeed, it's ridiculous lol The japanese fetishes with children is something bizarre, it never fails to disgust

Playing it like a pro. My favorite playstyle, as a true Vannilaware game should br played, japanese dub with eng subs, and doing all routes and doing everything the game has in it? Thank you so much for being a hero for my boring days. I subscribed so I'll be around till the end of this gameplay.
