- Evening road trip from downtown Salt Lake City Utah to Park City Utah, the mountain ski resort town most famous for the Sundance Film Festival, the largest independent film festival in the United States. Typically the festival is a huge draw, with over 120,000 people coming to the Salt Lake City area, but the event is currently being held virtually. The ski resorts here also form largest ski area in the U.S. In all, the resort boasts 17 slopes, 14 bowls, 300 trails and 22 miles of lifts.

Park City lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it’s bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes. Utah Olympic Park, to the north, hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and is now predominantly a training facility. In town, Main Street is lined with buildings built during a 19th-century silver mining boom.

Park City is a city in Summit County, Utah, United States. The city is 32 miles (51 km) southeast of downtown Salt Lake City.
After a population decline following the shutdown of the area's mining industry, the city rebounded during the 1980s and 1990s through an expansion of its tourism business. The city currently brings in a yearly average of $529.8 million to the Utah Economy as a tourist hot spot, $80 million of which is attributed to the Sundance Film Festival. The city has two major ski resorts: Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort. Both ski resorts were the major locations for ski and snowboarding events at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Although they receive less snow and have a shorter ski season than do their counterparts in Salt Lake County, such as Snowbird resort, they are much easier to access.
In 2015, Park City Ski Resort and Canyons resorts merged, creating the largest ski area in the U.S. In all, the resort boasts 17 slopes, 14 bowls, 300 trails and 22 miles of lifts.
The city is the main location of the United States' largest independent film festival, the Sundance Film Festival, home of the United States Ski Team, training center for members of the Australian Freestyle Ski Team, the largest collection of factory outlet stores in northern Utah, the 2002 Olympic bobsled/skeleton/luge track at the Utah Olympic Park, and golf courses. Some scenes from the 1994 film Dumb and Dumber were shot in the city. Outdoor-oriented businesses such as backcountry.com, Rossignol USA, and Skullcandy have their headquarters in Park City. The city has many retailers, clubs, bars, and restaurants, and has nearby reservoirs, hot springs, forests, and hiking and biking trails.

Is it just me, or does anyone else love cities in the morning? Something about the Dawn of a new day makes me happy. (Maybe Im tripping and this was filmed in the afternoon, but it looks like morning, lol)
Yeah this was film in the evening, the mountain ranges flanking Salt Lake run North to South. Wasatch in the East, Oquirrh's to the West
USA is and will always be stunning; Beautiful!
As someone who was born in the UK, lives in Australia, & has visited Utah many times over the years, this is the first time in a long time that my wife & I haven't been in SLC/Park City during Jan/Feb. Damn you, Covid! 😡 I love this place so much - & this video was actually very therapeutic for me as I imagined being there, behind the wheel, driving along streets that are so familiar to me. Whether it's the snow-capped Wasatch mountains in the north or the red rock desert in the south (check out J Utah's drive through Arches National Park), Utah-Land truly is a magical place. If you've never been, you gotta go. 🇺🇸🏔⛷🏜❤️
Sorry to hear you couldn't make it. I'm in the USA and our trip to Sun Valley got cancelled a week before departure in March 2020 but we were able to go in 2021 and just got back yesterday April 6 2022. Since this post is a year old, I hope you made it this year!! It is beautiful! Cheers!

We were there, not 2020 Christmas, but 2019. It was the first time my daughter actually played in snow. We even had a white Christmas morning snow fall. It was fantastic. Brought me back to when I was a kid. We had the greatest time. Next stop will be Jackson Hole if not for this Christmas, but maybe for New Years. We live in Central Florida & miss the winter wonderland of Christmas and snow. People here think I'm crazy, but my family & I do not.. Safe Travels & God Bless!!!

@@ZeynepYardemir I used to be a flight attendant before the pandemic hit and one of our pilots always rented a car and drove around to discover. So you might be right!
I rarely go to Main Street because of how busy it gets, how many cars there are and people walking around. But Sundance Film Festival was cancelled in PC tho. It’s been busy because of ski season and how full ski resorts get. This just reminds me of how many people visit PC in the winter and how crazy busy it can get. This is some good freaking content tho 🤩.
We have a few favorite eateries on Main Street that we go to, but yeah, mostly its just too busy.

Apart from the landscape, I love the way traffic seems to be well kept in hand, I mean you passed kind of eight green traffic lights in a row, and even when It was red you never wasted more than 30 seconds. In Italy you may be waiting minutes, and I think you have experienced

Nothing like a bike lane that's just a strip of paint in the middle of an active driving lane, and isn't even protected by bollards.

Why did you take the absolute longest way to get out of salt lake? If you had stayed on West temple, you can get on interstate 80 at 900 S and save 20 mins and 10 miles
probably to let non-utahns get feel for the layout of Salt Lake City, also took more scenic route instead of the industrial area along the I-15/I-80 Interchange

@@jameswest8280 ahhhh okay I have seen that movie as well and it makes sense as it plays in a snowy mountain region in the USA. Sometimes when we see places it just inspires our memories and let us built up associations to things that are memorable to us!

My first and only time I visited Utah/Park City was in 2016. It was a nice enough town but Utah overall didn't do it for me. Much of the mountains are barren, not many trees. I'll stick to visiting Colorado.
