    I was in the Isle of Man for 10 years and needed a competent road machine for the mountain. 2006 went and test road all the current weapons of choice at DK and was thinking Blade or R1 it started raining and wnet out on a K6. Wow, deal done. After 2 years of following the locals GSXR 750s or 600 would always turn quicker so fitted Blackstone carbon wheels. Riding in the UK it seemed Id wasted my money but once the bike was at high speed what a package, the suspension colud be softened and it handled better, the braking was way way better...wheelies dont get me started and turn in was stable and as good as a 600. With a 2006 R1 throttle tube (gives a quick action throttle) that GSXR was one of the most stable easy to ride machines out there, still have it. Dynoed 162 BHP and weighed in at 162Kg wet, mid range monster.

    I'm 60 years old and an old man now. But I had a K6 back in the day and with a canned tune from Dynojet with a PC-3 tuner, an M4 full exhaust, got 162 hp at the rear wheel on the dyno (with a few tweaks). The bike was an absolute beast . Friends of mine with their ZX-10's and Yamaha Ravens hated the fact that 160 hp, no matter what they did with tune and exhaust, was unobtanium for them ...... I miss that bike ....... I sold it before it reduced me to ground temperature .................... and yes, my beautiful wife gave me an ultimatum ..... LOL🤣🤣🤣

A friend of mine, John Minnono, who owns land speed records, toke my bike down the 1/4 mile in Ennis Texas and ran a 9.40 / 164 mph run bone stock !!!!!! He was having a blast !!!! I finally said give me my bike back before I have no clutch left !!!! I am a retired aircraft mechanic and managed to get the weight of the beast under 380 lbs. . It was brutally quick. I've got a 22 panigale v4s and one of the big things they changed was the spring rate to the front forks. Can guarantee that revzilla video had something to do with that. Panigale is an absolute weapon, but I am currently looking at a k5 to 7 gsxr or daytona 675r for a 2nd bike

    • @rideronabudget76
      @rideronabudget76  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think iirc they mentioned the suspension was a limiting factor on the video. No doubt a v4 walks away from the K5. It’s happened to me on track with an rsv4. He dropped me. My L7 is able to stay with them a bit more but you could see the gap in power.
      I love the sound of the 675. I remember almost getting burnt by one who I was up the arse of waiting to pass on a track day. I was right behind him and we were coming to a corner and he braked, and downshifted. The bloody thing shot flames. I shit myself haha. Thanks for the comments bud :) safe riding.

      @@rideronabudget76 Yeah with the 400 I was thinking I could race. But was also thinking they'd be cheap on tyres etc too. Last bike was an Aprilia RSV Mille so think I might find a 400 a bit small and maybe lacking in power. But heaps lighter. I'd lean towards a gsxr myself, mainly because everything on the bike is a higher quality. Like in your video, it's not just power is it. To get a ninja 400 to match a stock GSXR 1000 you'd have to swap brakes, clutch and suspension. Which would probably cost more than you'd save in tyres over a few years.
