I wish Frodo and Sam were dirty or unique, I was expecting them to take the opportunity to make the orc disguise prints but no
Fun fact: the Orc Gothmog was named after Gothmog, the Lord of the Balrogs. He was Captain of the Guard in service to the First Dark Lord of Middle-Earth, whom Sauron also served as the Second in Command of.
23:18 this is the first time I've ever seen him bump into something in his lego room
I know his heart must have skipped a beat and sunk when he felt that.
@@Corporaldanger i was thinking the same thing😂
The fact that they hardly modified or changed anything about the Mouth of Sauron minifig says how good a figure the original was, certainly way ahead of its time.
Getting 600 dollar sets for free must be amazing.
Something tells me duckbricks would be able to afford barad dur without getting it sent directly from lego for free.
With all the work he put into making these videos I’m not sure of much for “free” it is. Then it’s more like Lego getting free marketing must be amazing.
14:35, it's now $650
Cap it’s 459
They’re probably talking about AUD
Thank you for the deep dive Duck! I will watch this video every day until June 1st because I’m obsessed.
-Sauron needed the avatar arms and legs
-Sam and Frodo needed new variants with orc disguise printing or just the simple tan shirts with straps they wear underneath (would’ve been nice to get an orc camp side build instead of a little piece of rock)
-Gollum looks terrible besides the new garment mold
-all the orcs are great
Can not wait to get this one! So glad to see another amazing review!!
So I'm not a huge fan of DuckBricks at all, but that being said, I really do appreciate the fact that he made this video in particular. Most other sponsored reviews will gloss over the minifigures because they either don't appreciate how big a deal they really are, or simply have too much stuff to go over for the rest of the review. So clearly this guy understood and appreciated the amount of stuff that needed to be said and shown.
As far as I'm concerned, the Sauron figure truly is the highlight of the set. Warts and all. It didn't even occur to me that he should have used tall legs and long arms, but I do agree that he should. Still not a make or break for me though. I do think we should have gotten a Witch King instead of a Mouth of Sauron, though. The figure is so unchanged and we have never gotten a Witch King minifigure (From LotR).
9:59 How could you forget about Snaga Ugluk and Grishnakh
And Gorbag and Shagrat.
I think you meant the Mouth of Sauron when you said Witch King at the end, though I would love LEGO making an actual Witch King minifigure.
This was an amazing set. First with Rivendell and now with Barad-dur…the age of rebirth for LEGO LOTR has begun. Realistically though, I feel like I would still get Rivendell (when I finally get enough cash for both that set and the D&D set) over this one because I’d really only buy this set for Sauron, the helmets and that Nazgûl with Fellbeast.
love your reviews!!
Great video. My favorite figure there, is Gothmog. I think the sword that Sam has, would be Sting. I think he was carrying it at that point. Along with the Phial of Galadriel. The Hobbit & The Lord Of The Rings is my second favorite book series. Next to Dune. I’m definitely getting this.
Im super hyped for this set, despite probably not being able to get one because of the price, for me the biggest flaws were Sauron short arms and legs, and Gollum and the orcs face design, the older ones were a LOT better, it gave more personality
23:18 for a second I thought you knocked the whole tower down
Is there any reason why the Sauron helmet couldn’t be part of the orc helmet pack or added more pieces like a unique mace for Sauron
If they put those helmet packs on PaB I would buy a ton. Come on Lego, do it!
I feel like if he had the long legs/arms, then he would just look goofy.
Just put studs on him as boots and he'll be tall enough, the helmet already gives a height advantage
They should make one a bionicle Sauron
Ok so when looking at the old videogame version you ca also dee the helmet going over some of the torso. So unless they wanted to give him a head extention. I Think that is the reason that his helmet and shoulders became one piece. And giving sauron the larger body would mean his helmet would look tiny and especially the pauldrons. So they probably went with the choice of a small fig cause of the videogame and the proportions of the tall figures not fitting with the bulk of sauron.
What do you think next year's big boy will be? Now that we know this years will be barad-dur
Probably either helms deep or Minas tirith
@@prons_gaming5083 I would love to see them come as big model sets.
what I dont like about the new lotr sets is that they are only expensive ones and somone like me cant afford more than one for the figs or only wants the figs but they end up getting really expensive on bricklink
it is too bad that they did not give us Sam and Froto in their complete disguise. It does not look right to just have a helmet on.
nice video but one that is sting but with sam
Frodo and Sam needed different prints. They look silly with those helmets and the same clothes they had in Rivendell.
Sauron definitely needed longer legs and arms
The old Gollum arms and face were lightyears better than this one
And there should have been two additional mini-figures included here because this is likely the closest set that we will ever get that makes sense for them to be included: Isildur and Elrond in battle gear.
9:45 This is a 3 mouth scene.
Example: Chris., Mouth of Sauron (x2)
Sauron not having long legs/arms was silly 😮💨
No and yes I think I looks good
I agree, also I don't know if it's my imaginstion but I noticed the designers were not LOTR fans that was the impression I had
Different strokes I suppose. I really dislike those navi legs and think they would make him look goofy.
@@beauraymond11 Same
I don't like the long legs so I might just attach a few studs in gunmetal to make them look like boots
I wanna buy it but my wallet is still crying from the venator and Rivendell
How does everyone pronounce barad dur wrong
Sauron is not the main villain of Lotr morgoth is I mean he was the reason that some of the world went underwater and I mean a good chunk of it
@@StarWarsmotion-sy7uqSauron is the main villain of lotr, by the time of lotr Morgoth is no more, he was the main villain in the silmarillion but not lotr
Yeah I guess that’s true
To be honest, I personally hate shinny pieces of the newer LEGO molds and some colors have visible molding textures inside which is quite visible in the video at 17:10 at the back of orcs legs. I also don't know or like the idea they have changed perfectly fine colors to more brighter colors which also decreased the quality of bricks drastically. However the new upcoming Barad Dur set seems nice. Thank you for a good review!
Let’s go
Even fake lego make a helmet solo for Sauron... its only a cost pb
And the skibidi toilets? Please
Please go away
Sauron fig looks like an aliexpress bootleg.
sauron looks like a lame custom fig
Tbh i really like the figure, but hey, thats my opinion :/
