Donovan has clearly improved his playing/singing combo. There's performances of his that are good, but this is phenomenal. What a phenomenal artist.
Definitely, it blew my mind when I heard him now vs from like 2018-
Maybe it's because they dropped the tunning half step on the guitars and bass.
It could be that he knew this would be recorded so he tried to be at peak performance. Hydrated, sober, not tired wtc... compared to other nights. Not saying that he plays fucked up or half ass on tour just that maybe he gave that extra 110% on this one knowing it'd be recorded like it was.
@@ProdByClockwerk if I'm not mistaken, I think Donovan is sober. And yeah, you always try your hardest for a recorded gig. But, this is beyond exception, in my opinion.

The sound tech for this set did pretty well. The guys sounded really good and looked comfortable.
This is one the best things I’ve ever seen in terms of how good the band played and how clean the recording is.
Edit: the editing is on point as well.
this is genuinely one of the greatest things I've ever seen, i just found out about these guys and i watched a few other live videos and was already amazed, but bro is doing lead vocals AND playing drums at the same time in this one, and its not an easy drum part at all. this is absolutely insane.

This is just the best. Studio like performance, without editing it to be over clean, and without the exhaustion of a normal set and audience energy. Love it.
Out of the handful of youtube uploads of live performances of HTS I've run into today this one has gotta be the best. To top it off he's doing both singing and drums this one too, truly incredible. Better than his Disappearing Syndrome live performance imo, and he wasn't on drums that one. He's so skilled, damn!

I just found this band today by accident and OMG this live performance is the best I've ever heard and he's paying drums as well... God given talent bc hard work doesn't get you there.
Saying this only downplay the actual hard work that the dude went through to be able to sing and play drums well at the same time.
