I would guess it's more about the subject matter. I love the song, but it's about a real person's death, and especially now that the case is solved and its far less sensational than what was thought for years, it's probably not a good "look" to play it a lot. just a guess though
This is incredible and his voice is so damn clean here. He will always draw the Anthony Green comparison but Donovan keeps sounding better as to where Anthony has lost a lot of his higher scaling throughout the years and has resorted to more of a mellow and raspy sound.
Well, to be fair Anthony is older and has a couple of years extra of singing, with different styles and with really agressive songs with Saosin for example. Also this is half step down, just as most singers have to do when singing older stuff. Both are great! and anyone has some good and bad days. Also DRUGS lol, just like Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Anthony moves a lot in every show. Anyway I still get the point, Donovan seems to have a better technique or have been taking care of his voice better than them because his on point. I watched Circa live on 2019 and I was expecting Anthony to fuck it up. Usually because hes always ALMOST hitting the note but not quite there, but damn, that guy is a monster. Totally blown away with by voice.
Oh shit. This is about the girl that went missing in a hotel and showed up in the water tank. She's there. Flowing through the water pipes. Fucking righteous.
Wow this song is amazing. Thank you for posting this! I’ve known about hail the sun for a couple of years now, but I’m just starting to really really appreciate their music. They write so well!
Although I did record the whole thing on like 3 or 4 of the songs my internet was acting up and buffered for like 10 seconds now if no one minds that then I might post all of them.
@@steviemolina3715 if you have the time and don't mind, I would absolutely love to see all the videos! But obviously as long as it's not any trouble for you. I wanted to record them myself but I didn't get around to it.
Nightmares! Some come true. Never let your guard down. No one is immune. Anything that can, will happen. Such is the story lived through Elisa. Stuck in time... Checking in to the hotel taunted by the building itself. And I wonder if the walls spoke would they share the cruelest dreams. Would they tell about the murders in the bedrooms? Or of suicide by jumping out of their rooms? Or the stalker on the top floor? Don't go looking. Don't go looking! She's There Stuck in time.. Disappearing syndrome She's there (Disappearing) Flowing through the water pipes. Stolen by the history. Led above to where we drink. Laid to rest, laid to rest. Found in a liquid nest. Haunting demeanor. gone away. You won't be erased. gone away. What is it they covered up? The elevator camera hints at what could have happened. And I wonder if the walls spoke would they share the same thing. A couple weeks to find the human marination. Consuming water with her flesh contamination. Was this all a result of possession? Don't go looking. Don't go looking! She's There Stuck in time.. Disappearing syndrome She's there (Disappearing) Flowing through the water pipes. Flowing, flowing through the water pipes. That's where they found her. What is it they covered up?? One thing we know that's for sure; That her vessel lay unmoved. Did she feel pain when her life left? Was she gone before the splash? Maybe this is happening exactly as intended; Mastering a story that never will be ended. What if it's an artist that performed a final piece? Crafting a legend, crafting a legend. Stolen by the history. Led above to where we drink. Laid to rest, laid to rest. Found in a liquid nest. Haunting demeanor. gone away. You won't be erased. gone away. Gone away.
Fun fact, I was listening to Hail the Sun on Spotify, the album ended and started playing recommended songs, the first of which was a DGD song, and that’s how they became one of my favorite bands.
@@9000ryan even more of a fun fact, if I remember correctly, a band called Sianvar is a little cross over of HTS and DGD, along with dudes from other bands. Check them out
You can fill in for someone on the drums, can’t fill in for him on vocals. Plus it’s nice to get better focus on vocals I mean listen to how good he sounds right here
Ngl this is a prime example of why I hate guitarists, this part right here is why. 1:57 Literally every song they did this set if it was just the bass in the song they would play something over it and drown it out. Holy shit that kind of stuff makes me so annoyed as it takes away from the song.
Damn this the best his voice has sounded in a long time
Definitely agree. Last time I saw HTS, he struggled a bit. I can't really blame him though cause they go hard as fuck most songs.
Him not having to play drums def helps, but also feel like he picked up a really good vocal coach
@@d1ssolv3r really?
@@lex_C_88 just a guess
it really does sound great
No wonder they don’t play this live much. The vocals are so intense!!
The whole damn song is like 15 different parts! They crushed it too.

This is the best performance I've ever seen from Donovan. I've never seen him sing other than from behind the kit tho so there's also that.

Oh shit I never figured this was about Elisa Lam haha that's crazy

If I was them I wouldn’t play this technical ass song live either loll

Si lo tengo completo pero se corto el internet como en 4 ocaciones durante el live stream por 5 - 10 segundos durante 4 de las canciones
@@steviemolina3715 cual fue el setlist?
Thanks for the upload! Anyway you could upload some songs from the Kurt Travis set? Specifically tear it out and desperate?
I unfortunately didn't record that set sorry :(
Stevie Molina that’s alright, thank you for the response!
Who's the touring drummer?
3:18 part of Elisa Lam death
the whole song is based on it
Bruh can you post poetry by andres
Do you have eight ball coroner's pocket? Was so bummed when I found out they played that and I missed it :(
sure thing :D
Easily their best song
They have that Dance Gavin Dance vibe

They’re under signed Will Swans label also, both Donovan and Sergio are employed at Blue Swan Records.
Is that Arik on the guitar or did they get q new guitarist??
yup its Aric
he doesnt drum for them live anymore? :/
Check out Black Serotonin and Railmaster on this guy's channel from the same performance. He only plays drums during some songs
