Your video came at a good time! I needed some cheer! I love the Moroccan theme. The colors and the tiles are wonderful! Thanks, as always, for sharing your great talent!
@catbem2593 thank you 🙏 but my job here is just to discuss and design the look of the client's dollhouse. If it was my own house, then I'd be able to make what ever I wanted 😊
Hi Richard, Glad to see you had posted a new video today. I was looking yesterday for any new additions but there was nothing. See I miss your happy face. The new house is coming along nicely. What an undertaking making 350 tiles. I have not yet tried my air dry clay. The colour pallet is beautiful. My sort of colours. Also love the Moroccan cut outs. Might have to rewatch that bit as I was washing the dishes and couldn’t hear what was going on. Glad you like Penny, I have been following her for just over a year now and I think she is so lovely. She is a great teacher. Her instructions very clear and precise. I started watching her as she was making her Grandparents homestead which is what I have been trying to do also. Even down to making the butter churner and milk separator which I thought I’ll never find anyone making one of those. Sadly for me she finished her house a long time ago and I am still struggling with mine. Never give up I keep telling myself. Lol. Take care. Cheers Robyn ❤😊
@RobynWright-f1g thanks Robyn 🙏 yes, these videos takes days to make, what with waiting for stuff to dry, and how long the jobs just take. But I wish I could do a different video every day! In my dreams 😂 You made me laugh when you said about watching a bit again as you were washing the dishes at the time! 😂 its like sneaking into another person's life 😂♥️
Love your videos, the time goes by so fast! I was so surprised when we got to the end, lol. The tiles look amazing and I am excited to see the cafe all done, it looks beautiful so far. I see the building inspector has given John's tea room the stamp of approval. He can move forward knowing Nigel says everything's in order! I follow Penny, you two are very similar and you make really complicated things look very easy. I love seeing each of your projects coming along and I get excited each time I see a new video come out. You are both extremely talented! Can't wait for the next episode, love and hugs to all... 🏠🏠🏠🏠
@debrafoster4374 thank you my lovely 🙏 and yes, I've always thought Penny and me were so similar in our approach. It's a shame we don't live nearer each other as I think it would have been fun to do a video together! 😊
Wow Rich that Moroccan cafe is looking absolutely stunning so far, great idea whoever came up it, to make your own floor tiles, and l’m also a subscriber to the lovely Penny, I know exactly what you mean about her calm voice, and she explains everything so well it’s easy to understand and follow along with her tutorials, tfs x Julie
@@juliederry3719 thanks Julie 🙏 the tiles were more a labour of love, but once I'd decided, there was no going back! 😂 that's what I think about Penny also, when I watch her. I think we must have been related in another time! 😂xx
The tiles look fabulous! I love watching your videos, I learn so much and you are willing to admit that we aren't perfect, and we can still have fun. ❤️ From 🇨🇦😊
@lorellife616 thank you 🙏 I was really pleased with the results. But yes, I definitely enjoy trying things along with filming, so everyone can see how things go! 😊♥️
Your hard work paid off! The tiles and colors are lovely. Thanks for sharing Pennys channel I have not seen this channel before. I am caught up now and hope to keep caught up❤️
Hello Rich...hope you are doing well...Another great video...I love the colors the panel along the bottom of the wall is fantastic...I eventually would like to try using the air dry clay...will let you know how that goes
Richard i cant enough of watching you. You are truly brilliant!! Id like to have you come to Georgia for two weeks and help me with my dollhouse. Oh that would be fantastic. By the way, Nigel is just approving John Boys work. As you know my cat does the same darn thing. Looking forward to the next video. Give Nigel and Georgie kisses for me !!! Mary xxxx
I used DAS a while back to make some pots - once it's dry you've got to keep it in a dry place because it can soften again if it gets wet. I was using one of the pots as a stand for a rock salt tea light older, the rock salt absorbed a lot of water and it sweated, making a puddle in the bottom of the pot.
Loved every minute especially the laser cut finish, just so atmospheric. You definitely earn every penny and more with your unique devoted commissions. I learn so much from you especially patience which I’m lacking. Just where is John Boy doesn’t he know how much we love to know he’s around? Can’t wait for next video, oh yes love that you give other miniaturists a nod bless your heartX .
@CarolHall-m3i thank you for your kind words Carol 🙏 sadly, John boy goes out a few days a week to visit various family members, so it's just a bonus when we all catch him at home! But I'm always reading the comments folk write, and he's always very pleased to get a response 🙏♥️
May I have a seat in that cafe? The colors are so "Rich" and Moroccan. I keep thinking of turmeric and curry! Love the way you deserted the simpler method of flooring for the handmade tiles. They look fantastic!
@UlsterCountyNY yes I'm sure you would be a most welcome guest! Yes, the handmade tiles were definitely a "fit of madness" but I was so happy with the results!
The finished floor was well worth the effort--and the time! The room looks bespoke (love that very-English word) with the hand-made tiles. The colours may have been the same with flooring papers, but the addition of slight irregularity and of texture has made the whole room sing. p.s. I believe Penny is Canadian
@Ms.JuliaW. oh no! I will have to apologise to Penny! I do hope she forgives me, I should learn more about the people, rather than just concentrating on the fabulous things they create! 🙏
@@RichMiniatures I've followed her for a while, and she does give amazing tutorials. (and I don't believe calling a Canadian "American" is any worse than calling a Scotsman "English".)
Yet again Rich' you blow me away with your attention to detail & dedication to your craft. I have seen a lot of dolls houses with paper roofs, personally I am not a fan, handcut tiles regardless of whatever they are made of always look so much more realistic. On a different note will you be going to York Dolls House Fair at the weekend? I'm planning on going, hoping to find lots of lovely goodies 😊😊
Love your video Richard, Could I ask did just the one packet of Das make all your tiles or did you have to buy more..really think the use of a lasagne/ pasta stretcher was a brilliant 👏 idea. 😊xxxShaz 🥰
@thekingstone8632 thanks Shaz, it was great fun making the tiles. To make all 350 floor tiles and around 60 roof tiles, it took just over one and a half packs of Das. It's amazing how quick it goes, but we'll worth it I thought xx
@patmanchester8045 no it's not Fimo clay I agree. It was just a slip of the tounge because I was just talking about similar clays you can use in general 😏 I don't plan a script for my videos, it's just my style, so I can make the odd mistake now and then 😂
You have inspired me to do a terra cotta floor in my Spanish modern house kitchen 💛 Wonderful instructions for me to follow
