  • PLEASE TURN ON THE SUBTITLE!
Just a cincai video of Hamizan and I on a quick trip to KLCC to get some snacks. It's such a lovely day I couldn't not make a video.
My other mic is down so I had to use my default Samsung hands free mic. Not half bad I think. Really great backup.

Thank you! I actually had a lot of fun making it. I'll try and bring my recording things outside more often :D It's really difficult to get my friends to participate though. I'm an extrovert surrounded by introverts.

We hope to return to Malaysia soon in sha Allah. I hope you continue your videos. They're very helpful for me. I wish I found them sooner. I was stuck inside during MCO and couldn't figure Bahasa Malaysia out dengan buku2 sahaja.

So Malay is, basically, in my language 🇵🇭, a mish-mash of Tagalog, Cebuano/Hiligaynon and Ilocano!
And it's awesome that the rhythm is similar to speaking Cebuano. It's hard to tell the difference :D
Can't wait to visit KL. Please keep posting these videos!

Kempunan bukan craving. Craving ialah mengidam. Kempunan, kalau tak dapat benda yg kita mengidam, baru lah kempunan.

Rindulah nampak KLCC. Dulu masa kerja kat menara Maxis, tiap2 hari(termasuk hari Sabtu) terpaksa ambik komuter-LRT pergi kerja. Bila sampai hari Ahad kadang2 family nak keluar jalan2 enjoy aircon, bila dia orang sebut saje KLCC I dah rasa nak muntah. Tapi sekarang rindu pulak. Jalanraya kat KL I pun dah tak reti nak bawak kereta, balik pun suruh anak buah jadi driver. Learned a new phrase today, susur gajah :) memang tak pernah dengar tu. Terima kasih ya! A big thumbs up for Cik Hamizan kerana sudi muncul kat video. Kepanjangan rambut dia boleh tahan jugak sama dengan saya punya, namanya Rambut Lockdown :D

Saya minta dia simpan rambut panjang sebab angan-angan nak ikat ala samurai macam tu. Masa mula-mula panas, dia tak tahan tapi sekarang dia macam suka pula.
Walaupun KLCC parking mahal macam apa benda entah, saya suka sangat pergi KLCC sebab ada Kinokuniya. Kalau tak masuk mana-mana pun, saya suka jalan-jalan kat situ. Banyak nostalgia, agaknya sebab masa saya masih sekolah dulu, saya selalu datang sini dengan kawan-kawan dan jalan-jalan dekat park kat luar.

@@sierralisse8897 Oh macam ni rupanya. So KLCC to you is like Sg. Wang for me lah :) (Showing the age gap here hehehehe). But yeah, KLCC's parking memang mahal sejak mula2 lagi. And you're right, Kinokuniya is a nice place to hang out, and ramai pulak rakyat2 asing kat sana.
Saya punya alasan pula, simpan rambut panjang sebab malas nak gunting, simpan duit, and sebab COVID-19 and lockdown.... Hendak, seribu daya; Tak hendak, seribu dalih :p

Loved that! I have been practicing Malay here with you and I find it sooo amazing to be able to learn it here from you 💜💜💜 Just a question... When you speak Malay here in this video you use I suka - I is in English right? And in another part you used the word try while speaking Malay - why is that? You guys usually speak English words among Malay ones? 😍😍

Hello! Thank you so much for watching my videos, I'm always happy when someone finds it useful. And yes, Malay people use a lot of English words in their everyday conversations. I & you are definitely English words and city people tend to use them a lot in place of the usual saya-awak or aku-kau pairing. There are many reasons for this.
For me, saya (I) sounds too formal to use on my close friends while awak (you) sounds a little weird because we've never used it on each other when we became friends. I think it's because we speak English a lot so naturally we gravitate towards I and you and it spills over to Malay as well. I would use awak on other people though, just not on this particular friend or group of friends.

I understand rojak is daily conversation among Malaysian but I'd appreciate it if you don't encourage foreigners to speak rojak. Teach them proper Malay street words or casual conversation. Use petak kenderaan for parking, sederhana for medium, besar for large, laluan pejalan kaki berbumbung bukan berkanopi. Tolong jangan rosakkan bahasa ibunda tapi fasihkan diri sampai mampu berbahasa dengan baik walau dalam pergaulan harian.
