If you feel like you suck in the F-14 and it's demotivating try giving it a shot with an experienced human RIO, not only is it highly motivating and much more enjoyable it's also how they did it IRL. It definitely has a much more 'hands on' and manual feel than the hornet and takes some getting used to, but once you start deleting bandits from 40 miles with the phoenix you don't wanna go back
I wanted to learn the RIO seat so much, but every time I get into a server with someone NOTHING I do in the plane has any effect on the simulation, up to and including pulling the ejection handles - it ejects ME from the plane, but it doesn't blow the canopy or remove the seat and Jester just takes over immediately. Gave up after about two weeks of this.
@@Atlessa as with anything, it's all about having the right teammate. I'm in the process of learning DCS and wouldn't mind a copilot now and then. You wanna be RIO? fine with me.
@@Scoobydcs technically yes but another thing is can you really trust any of them to operate what is essentially a flying molotov bomb? Each pilot would have to be submitted to a psychological evaluation to make sure they won't try a oof/11
