I lead a group of 15 to 20 every week. I tune my guitar down a half step to D#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D# which helps me in lowering keys of songs. Totally worth doing.
Hey, I stumbled on your channel and am intrigued. For 20 years I have been on worship teams as a lead guitar player but never led worship. I was always fine as a follower... Until now. God has led me to create live worship at our Celebrate Recovery meetings. I thank you for having this advice available. I am looking forward to the challenge. LE, Florida
Been following this channel for awhile and this video just popped up in my feed. I actually lead a small group focused on learning and breaking down Worship music. We go over 1 song per group. Learn where the lyrics might come from in the Bible (if at all, lol). Talk about how the lyrics apply to us individually, how they're speaking to us and finally learn how to play it as simplified as possible.
I lead our Small Group every Wednesday. Being a baritone finally has its perks when leading in a more intimate setting haha. lower Key, familiar song, and occasionally I'll introduce a new song to them if we are doing it that coming Sunday.
Thanks Spencer for your video! Just curious... How do you handle lyrics in a small group setting? Most people kind of know a song but for many, stumbling over words can be a barrier even to familiar songs. Great tips and thanks again!
Our entire church is about 20 people on any given Sunday... So I lead "small group" worship every week. Thanks for the tips.
