    Setiu Wetlands
    "Nine Ecosystems in One Destination
The Setiu Wetlands consists of three river basins converged to form a continuous lagoon 14 km long. It has nine interconnected ecosystems that read like a biodiversity textbook. It is a mixture of sand islands, mudflats, mangroves, peat swamp, riparian forest, seagrass beds and sand beaches, and a lagoon filled with both sea and fresh water. And its diversity extends to it being a breeding ground for scores of mammals, reptiles and marine life. One can also visit a seafood aquaculture centre in the middle of the lagoon. Not many know that this centre also breeds oysters. Combined with beautiful scenery, Setiu Wetlands is heaven for the eco-tourist - an interesting destination for those who love the outdoors and nature."

    Boat Builders of Terengganu
"Terengganu is well known for its artisanal skills in boat making for centuries. Using no blue prints and no nails, the boat makers are world famous for hand-crafting boats. And we are not just talking about fishing vessels used by our fishermen; bespoke ocean faring wooden boats have been built here. Private individuals from four corners of the world have known to have purchased their boats from our boat makers. Indeed, the skills and craftsmanship of Terengganu boat builders have attracted the attention of many yacht and boat enthusiasts from all over the world.
The skills of these boat builders are highly prized due to their meticulous attention to detail where their crafting is only guided by pure memory and past experience. As mentioned, the original boat builders of the past do not rely on blue prints but their numbers are unfortunately dwindling."

I used to built a composite boat during my internship..we use kevlar, glass fiber mat, resin..most of it also done manually from polishing/waxing the mould, cutting the fiber mat, sealing the gaps to mke it more neat ,etc..it looks easy to do but you need skills to do that also.. my internship is one of the best experience i had..
Personally never went to this traditional boatbuilding place..i knew my state is famous for its boatbuilder/boatbuilding but never really into it..but now it makes me appreciate this art more..and wish we can do more to preserve it..

If only the government, local benefactors and investors, or even a foreign ship making companies that are willing to invest, manage and documenting all these incredible techniques that are yet to be known by the world, that would be great even if it has to be on the hands of a non-Malaysian company.
If that is the only choice available, so be it. At the very least, the culture and knowledge of these last generation of builders will not die out. If it provide jobs for the locals and make any difference to the human race, that’s the least that some people could do to continue the legacy.

They can’t do that simply because they learnt it by doing it, it’s a visual work, all boats are built differently and they don’t use metric tap or anything to calculate the angles of the curves of the boats, so it’s hard to write down something like this.
