I also like partrige (3eggs potentially), bluethroat (7 points, 5 eggs), all the birds which last an egg on every bird in eggless. Last but not least, warbler and yellowhammer which does you too play an extra bird. Those are definitely top 3 in my book.

I knew there was a forest bird that should almost make the list!! White Back Woodpecker, probably one of if not the best 1 food forest birds in the game. Just came up in my opening hand

euro exp opened our eyes to how good certain cards can be. several on your list can be 10+ point birds easy. i might throw in the bluethroat somewhere but nightingale is cheaper. list is good.

This is a good solid list can't argue with what you have selected. I would go Nightingale over blue throat as it's easy to get down early when food is hard to get, good nest size too.

Yes the food cost is high, but European Goldfinch is 6 points on its own plus a large nest capacity. I also like that it doesn’t rely on you having a card in hand to trigger.

It's definitely good. I've found in practice that the food cost can really be a barrier to getting this bird in position quickly.

I also find card cycle to *mostly* be better than just passive points. It can make timing of playing snow bunting a little tough and you might miss 1 or 2 tucks if you don't have excess cards but I agree snow bunting is better than Goldfinch.

@@MaudlinCake I do agree that Snow Bunting is better, but I do have Goldfinch above something like Cuckoo. Although egg spam is still a thing, if your opponent is going full tuck it is not worth the space. Unless you are talking about a Partridge or RavenStork, an optimal grassland needs a tucking bird.
