  • Hello my friends!
We went to Ciney, the biggest militaria fair in Europe!
Thousands of people come from all over the world to buy and sell military stuff!
Most of the stuff you see here is WW2 related, but basically you can find things from all time frames!
I already went to this place when I was a kid, and the last time I visited this fair was in 2019.
It was a big chaos, so much people.. BUT, we saw some awesome stuff, made some great deals, and... I'm really happy with the items I bought!
In the end, I will explain you what I bought, what I paid for it, and what it's worth!
Also, I managed to link names carved in some of the items to the actual soldier who was using it back in WW2!
Lot's of exciting things to see, enjoy the video!! :)

Hey Nick! Conor here, from Cascorro Militaria. Thank you so much for what you have done. I spent the whole 57 minutes of the video smiling, you are a true and honest fellow, I hope you enjoy your belt buckle, it’s more than well deserved. Take care and see you in Spain sometime? Who knows! Hahaha!

Fun fact: The belt buckle you got is actually the older style, before the ww1 model was introduced. I believe it's from pre 1896? So definitly awesome and quite unusual to find! To my knowledge these were often worn by the Landwehr units during ww1

Great video as always! I knew that W mark in the helmet right away as Westinghouse. My grandfather on my dads side a US WW2 navy vet retired from there. I think its great that there are so many people like you doing their best to keep history alive. My grandfather on my moms side moved from the Netherlands in1952. He spoke more of his time in the army in Indonesia after the war, but not nearly as much as his life during the war as a teenager. Family friends hid him at a bakery somehow for a year and a half so he wouldn't be put to work for the Germans. Thinking of that maybe we don't have it so bad today.

I’ve never heard of this military memorabilia show. I lived in Berlin for 2.5 yrs, US Army. At the time, I wasn’t interested in military history and war memorabilia. Now though, I love watching videos on people out excavating/hunting for war era relics. Wish I had taken an interest in this hobby while stationed in Berlin. Great video guys and gals! Thank you from Las Vegas NV

This years october edition was a good one. To my surprise, modern small arms made a slight comeback, with even a few mausers but the prices for many things were X3 what you would have paid a few years ago.
Example: In the past, a french mle 1892 ordnance revolver in good condition would have set you back 400- 500 euro's, now the going rate is 1000+ and I even saw one at 1500 euro.
    Completely insane, in my opinion.

We have a similar reenactors market in the UK called TORM (The Orignal Reenactors Market) but the vendors are all multi-period not just WW1 & WW2 but Medieval, Vikings, Elizabethan, Victorian ect. Of all sorts of items and fabrics and lots more!
But I made the faital mistake of spending my cash, within the first few hours of being there and then couldn't spend anymore. So I was just walking about in self pity and regret, thinking at every stall I walked past.
"dang it! I could've bought that!" But regardless I always love seeing how other countries do different militaria, antique markets & such. Its fascinating and really cool to see as many other markets have different variety of stalls, sellers, items ect.

I personally prefer flea markets over fairs and antique shops. Maybe you should make a video of you going to a flea market?

I agree, would love to see a video of a flea market from Nick, but fairs are really nice for talking to other collectors and making new friends🙂

Hello Nick, I was wondering if you could make a discord for your gaming account so people can play with you, and your friends. You could make a unit based on whatever you want and you could use original "historically accurate" tactics. I understand if you don't want to as it would be a big undertaking. I would greatly appreciate your consideration on this matter, thanks.

Hi nick, I’m restoring a stahlhelm but I have a question. Does day 1944 spray paint require a primer if I have to use on a plain steel helmet without any paint already being there or I can just spray the helmet without any issues?

    • @History-Secrets
      @History-Secrets  ปีที่แล้ว

Lightly sanding the helmet will be enough! You don't really need a primer!

My Dad was over there in WWll! He was in The Battle for Northern France, the Battle of the Bulge, and The Battle of the Rhineland! He was in Germany until Oct. of 1945 before he went home! I would like to go to Europe and see some of the places where he might have been!
