Been to Venice twice, once during Carnival. First time we went, we got hopelessly lost for hours trying to find the Hotel, but we didn't care one single jot. Spending hours lost in Venice stopping for an occaisional coffee and snack and taking-in the tourist-free backstreets and tiny canals was just wonderful. Never been so happy to be lost. A truly magical place.

Paddy, at the end of this narrow corridor in the mountain that looks so much like Cirith Hungol, I was pretty sure you would meet Shelob, and as you're traveling alone, there would be no Samwise Gamgee to save you from your horrible fate!
This said, absolutely stunning video, as usual!

So happy to see that you love those wild mountains as much as I do. My grandparents were from the Dolomites. My grandfather fought in WWI when the area was still part of Austria. They left after the war and moved to the United States, but I still have many relatives in a town called Pinzolo. If you ever get there say hi to the Failoni family, they own the Hotel Cristina & Hotel Lory, they're my cousins. They'll treat you vey well. love watching your videos!

The Dolomite's what a great adventure! I agree, rock mountain climbers are crazy. Would never get me to do it. I might repel down with a strong rope. Even that would be intense. Looking forward to Venice. I always take the train from Milan. Venice is just epic. My favorite city in the world!!!

    Hiya Paddy.
Oh my, those people on the rocks. Adrenaline junkies.
I am with you. No chance I would ever do that.
It made me feel anxious watching them.
I always thought that they attach the hooks as they go up.
Loved the music. With the most spectacular views.
    Pretty views with the hailstones.
The bunkers were a great place to hang out and let the storm pass. You made my stomach go over getting on that ledge.
At least the train was cheap. Beautiful video.
Thank you for taking us along.

Hope you enjoy/enjoyed Venice. I got to experience it in 2022 mid-pandemic when there was still limited travel and no real crowds. Took a gondola at sunset to the Rialto Bridge with my girlfriend and it was deserted, only 3 gondolas on the grand canal. It was a mindblowing experience.

This looks like great hiking for sure, hello from Yukon Canada - the difference in hiking between Europe and here in Yukon Canada. In Europe you have to watch for other hikers, in Yukon you have to watch out for bears 🐻

8:01 there is no finished rope when they climb mountains, whoever climbs to the top hammers in loops and fastens the rope.

Paddy out of curiosity, we counted 136 files on the edited version of this video. Out of the 136 files you were in 87 of them usually in a head and shoulder shot taking up about a third of the frame. There are many scenic shots of interesting places where you are habitually hogging the scenes, even when sitting in a train where you would expect to see shots of the passing countryside you have the camera pointed at yourself for no apparent reason. This is why we have decided to unsubscribe from the "Paddy Doyle vanity channel":
