@@nathank556 Yes. Head-scratcher indeed. I began to follow him a little at Kentucky. Then in Leach's 1st year as oc, OU went from the 3rd best offense in the state of Oklahoma to one of the 10 best in the country. After that, I began to try and catch all his games. He's a lotta fun.
I got to meet Mike Leach on more than one occasion. He was approachable to all !! He loved talking football , and he loved talking about many, many other things. He was the most interesting man you would ever meet. RIP COACH ! loved you !
I remember watching this game on TV when I was like in 5th grade. Me and my family were all excited and tech started to loose and I got sooo pissed off because they were never consistent. Either they would be bad ass or they would suck. Well, I got mad and took off all my tech stuff and gave up and played video games. Well, my parents called me back when they started to come back and wow!! What a game. Glad I saw this happen live.
I got tickets to this for Christmas that year. Was surrounded by Gopher fans (who were all incredibly pleasant) and it was a very painful 2 and 1/2 quarters. Amazing what happened after that, though.
Leach put Tech on the National stage..could never count them out with that offense..just never had a defense. The Texas game 2 years later at Jones Stadium was really something..Texas came in ranked #2..I swear there were more Longhorn fans there than Tech fans even on the home side. We were completely surrounded and they were loud and boisterous..But the Tech put on one hellava fireworks show and the Loudhorns just faded away. Miss those days..looking forward to the next few seasons with the recruiting they have in place now.#gunzup👆
Those years when Mike Leach was at Texas Tech must have been fun, exciting times to be a Red Raider fan.
It was great. Kent Hanse made a huge mistake by railroading Mike Leach out of Lubbock. We Raiders could be down, but we were NEVER out!
It was! The Jones was rockin
We still miss that man
They were, but for every game like this Leach also had a head-scratcher. Losing 30-6 in Boulder to a 1-7 Colorado team comes to mind.

RIP Coach Leach!
I still can't believe his last victory was over Ole Miss, I bought a shirt to honor him for that.
I had a group of buddies over to watch this game. They all left at halftime. I called them in the 4th quarter.l to turn the game on. What a comeback.

I love Leach's interview at the end of this. He cared about this team.
The thumbnail makes this even better
The original they had us in the first half I ain't gon lie lol
Best game ever
It was a great game, but I think the Texas game in Lubbock two years later tops this one.
