The guy who originally wrote this tune (Steve Allen) claimed he woke up one morning and this tune was already in his head. He just wrote it down.

Yes, Steve Allen was truly a renaissance man. A great chat show presenter (in fact the originator of the format that brought us Carson & Letterman etc). He penned hundreds of songs - played a very mean piano and was author to numerous books. With humour as a major objective Mr A was show biz personified and top of his game on every occasion.

I never get tired watching Steve from his chat shows to music soirées he had that magic touch that was copied on mainstream tv for ever more. Have you ever seen the piece with Sammy D (can’t seem to find it anymore) truly sublime. If ever there was a renaissance man Steve had it in spades. “Mr Wonderful thats him.”
WOW I got here chasing the Steve Allen tune. My lucky day ! These cats knocked me outta my seat. I've replayed it repeatedly. Crisp, clean and tight.

Im 17, a true tenor, and I sing Lead in my school’s quartet and we came first in state last year ! I’ll update you all how we do this year!

@@Yes-yv9zs we came first again with a Phantom of the Opera medley ! It was very cool and Phantom has always been a dream role of mine (as it is all tenors). Im so blessed to be able to do this and have my guys with me. We look up to great quartets like Instant Classic, First Take, Midtown, Gas House Gang, Bluegrass Student Union, Main Street, etc.
So blessed to be united by our love of music.

I'm 16, and my dream is to sing in a barbershop quartet one day. I'm a true bass and I can sing really low. I am trying to convince my parents to get me voice lessons so I can accomplish my dream one day!

I'm 16 almost 17 as well, and I actually have a quartet of some guys from my school! Just find you a few guys in your school's choir program if y'all have one, find a catpole song y'all like, and start learning! Good luck my dude.

Can you increase the volume of your uploads please because I've got bad hearing and I'm sure others can just turn down their devices volume if they think it's to loud, I should also alert you that if 1 of 26,000 subs is hard of hearing then I'm sure a lot more are as well and would agree with me

Conversely I think if 1 of 26000 subs has this problem then it clearly is not a problem for anyone else. But I'm sorry for your problem the volume is great on my phone.

Hi there, this could be a little late, but there are certain software plug-ins that can increase audio output. Look up "EQ audio boost" into google and see if any plug-ins are compatible with your browser. I use Google Chrome and there are many options for free!
Has your group tried any of the score from phantom of the opera?
They have an excellent arrangement of Til I Hear You Sing from Love Never Dies which is the sequel to Phantom of the Opera.
Can someone explain Barbershop to me? I've heard the terms Bass and Tenor, and I assume they mean different rules, but I don't understand it.
Barbershop is divided into four voice parts, Tenor, Lead, Baritone, and Bass. The Lead sings the melody. Tenors harmonize above the lead. Baritones harmonize usually a fifth below or above the lead, and basses sing the root notes to create full chords.

Carl Trammel Technically the baritone serves the role of completing the chord. This means they could harmonize above or below the lead.

bro Theo full voices a B in the tag and his blend is so good it doesnt even stick out. You have to listen for it.
Megatwilightwarrior That's actually Kohl on the B, in a fat head tone. Theo is on the fifth.
Scott Kitzmiller But the fifth is so unmistakably Kohl...and you can hear Theo’s vibrato coming off the B at the end.
Scott Kitzmiller Not to mention that B is most certainly not head tone, its too thin, it sounds much more like a mixed voice past the second passagio.
I am their coach and their dad. Trust me when I say that Kohl is on the high B. It may sound like Theo to you, but it isn't.
