My mom was a huge Roy Rogers fan, I believe, in part, because my grandad was. When she was little, back in the early 1940's, Roy Rogers and The Sons Of The Pioneers were a big deal at the movie theaters, as well as, on records. She and my dad, both gone today, visited the original Roy Rogers museum, many years ago, and took a bunch of pictures, I have them someplace, stored in the photo album she originally put them in. I just recently picked up Disney's , "Melody Time" (1948), which Roy Rogers & The Sons Of The Pioneers were in singing, "Blue Shadows On The Trail", and enjoyed every minute of it. I hate that all our American heroes are passing away and that there appears to be an attempt, to erase them from public knowledge and our history. That's a topic I could rant all day about. Great video. I was born and raised in Apple Valley and grew up knowing Roy as a normal person. He bowled with my mom at Victor Bowl and my teenage boyfriend (a now husband) kept score for him as well. I played at his ranch as a little girl, as my neighbor was one of his employees. I worked at KFC for a period of time and I will never forget the time I saw him come into the store to get chicken for him and Dale the week of thanksgiving. I knew who he was, but nobody else there did, sadly. I asked my coworkers if they knew and they didn’t have a clue. I was once in line at the local grocery store and behind me was Dale. She was fun to talk to. It was always fun to see him or Dale drive down Tomahawk in their little white cars. Good memories of Roy and Dale, and the High Desert of the 70’s and 80’s.
I grew up in 1950s Los Angeles and watched the Roy Rogers TV show. My favorite toy of all time was my Roy Rogers Double R Bar rodeo ranch set. I took very good care of it and still have it and the original box. It is now the favorite toy of my little granddaughters when they come over. I now live in Northern CA and Dale Evans son, Tom Fox, was our choir director. On one occasion that I recall, Roy and Dale came to watch a choir performance at our church. My best friend was in the choir and had been down to their Apple Valley ranch. She brought home a signed autograph for me. Good memories. Thanks for this episode.
Very nice video about my favorite cowboy. Being 74 years old I can remember Roy from my childhood. My first guitar was a Roy Rogers guitar my parents purchased from Sears in 1957. My wife and I flew from Alabama to visit the museum in 2003. Roy and Dale were strong Christians and Roy would never take a drink of liquor in his movies. In one of my Roy Rogers DVDs he was asked by a friend who had just rode into town to go to the saloon and have a drink but Roy said that he did not drink but he would go with him so they could catch up. Another fact: Roy purchased a home for his mom and day before he purchased one for him and his first wife. Another fact: Dale's son from her first marriage, a minister, lead Roy to the Lord. Get this: Roy and Dale also befriended Billy Graham before he really got nationally famous (they met and discussed Scripture with him when he was working in California in the late 40s IIRC). They later spoke at 1-2 of his Crusade events.
Roy and Dale had a beautiful love story that few people can equal. They were amazing Ambassadors for Children EVERYWHERE. Call kitchen or old FASHIONED but our world , the time of tje1o50s( I was born in July of 1950) was a prosperous, peaceful, Happy time in America. We were a Clean Cut America that CARED for each other. We have list a great deal of 5hst time now. Thank you Jeff for REMEMBERING and ENLIGHTENING your fans who like Sarah do MOT KNOW these Great American Heris of many of us who grew up with them. They suffered tragedy and stood on Faith , and you never heard a complaining sentence from them. Only LOVE AND JOY. No Jeff. I married a Rogers from SC where the surname is common spelled also with a "d" , Rodgers. " Rogers" was not Roys' birth name as you pointed out at his gravesite.But it fit him perfectly. Thanks for the interest tho.💙
I wish we had heroes like Roy Rogers today. The good guys always win in his movies and there is a moral lesson as well. I enjoyed watching his old shows and movies. I went to the museum in the early 80's and was sad when they moved it and later sold off the collection. Thanks
WOWOWOW!!!!! As a young boy, my heroes were Roy Rogers, Dale Evans and Pat Brady and his Jeep Nellie Belle.; and Gabby Hayes. My brother's favourite was Gene Autrey. So many memories.
Years ago my husband and I were driving from Death Valley to Los Angeles when I looked out the window and saw The Roy Rogers Museum. I was so excited and said, "Look! Oh my goodness! It's the Roy Rogers Museum." My husband just kept looking forward, said "Un huh...." and kept driving. A couple of years later I talked him into going back and we were both thrilled to see all (and I do mean ALL) of the displays. I think Roy and Dale saved everything. It was wonderful. I got to tour it with my now departed grandmother in 1980. It was a special visit. It is now all gone. I have photos of his display boards and the car and Trigger and Bullet, taxidermy and all. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!

Thank you Jeff for showing us the places Roy Rogers aka Leonard Slye lived and worked at. His last house sold for a little over 600,000; a similar house like that up here in Roseville would sell for close to 2 million dollars. I met Roy / Leonard at the museum after he had Trigger "stuffed" and mounted. He had a grand opening of the museum in the late 1960s. My family and I did drive past the Old Adobe house and didn't we didn't think too much of it; it was very old and somewhat run down looking. It is amazing how fast time creeps along; they're all gone now from this planet. Roy and Dale had a simple kind of faith and belief system in the Lord Jesus. Some people, nowadays would probably call them corny but they were true quality people that aren't seen very often anymore. I didn't see Sarah until later in the show so, thank you also for commenting on this show. I knew that his secretary signed autographs en mass for Roy. There were machines back then and now that can sign people's signatures. I just noticed the close up of the horse it has a dumb look on its face; maybe that's the reason why people didn't want it in the cemetery. At 12:08 the newspaper headline says, "Phantom attacks two more ranches." Those are true headlines nowadays what with cattle mutilations going on and being reported every now and then.

Jeff, great video. I grew up in Apple Valley and you could occasionally see both Roy or Dale around town. I wanted to point out a couple of related items in your video. While you were recording in the rocky section of the memorial park one of the family names in the background (12:30) was Cusack. Mr. Cusack started and ran the local cable company that your prized cancelled check was made out to. Also, you showed the marker for the Brewster family. The father Lenny was the umpire for the local baseball little league for many years. There is a community park named in his honor not too far from the memorial park. Thanks for the video.
Oh Yeah!!..I grew up in the late 1940's & early 1950's and Roy Rogers was my hero..Going to the theater to see his movies and then watching on television..Today,almost 70 years later,I still get a special feeling whenever I come across something about Roy..We do have one common bond,we were both born in Ohio..I especially liked this video,Thanks,Jeff & Sara!!

That has to be the most beautiful cemetery I have ever scene! I love the grave markings among the boulders. They were a very special couple who did so much for children. LOL ! THE closest I can come to that honor is 5th grade school pictures, the photographer called Dale Evans. Said I resembled her? Mabe, or Mabe he was just getting me to crack a smile! She was a very lovely Lady thru and thru. You have a great channel , very informative with facts mostly unknown to your audience at large. I'm an old movie nut. I wish I had your good experience. I met Rogers about 2-3 years before he passed. As a kid I was a big fan, bought VHS tapes on just about every one of his movies, read his bio, and even owned a palomino horse that I trained to rear. One day, when I was about 18 years old my family drove 2 hours to the museum, spent 1/2 the day there, and alot of money on memorabilia at the gift shop. In the lobby, I saw Roy Rogers's son Dusty behind the counter looking down at the desk next to the clerk. I said "Hi, Dusty" with a big smile and he looked up at me stone faced and went back to looking down at the desk. No "Hello" back or even a smile. Just as we were leaving, who did we see in the parking lot, but Roy Rogers. Sadly, the star struck joy was quickly shattered. I was utterly heartbroken by how rude he was. When he saw us approaching he rolled his eyes and looked pissed off. When we politely asked for an autograph for a book we bought on his movie career, he said "I'm not allowed to give autographs, but since no else is around I'll do it." He was vey annoyed, but at least he did give us an autograph. When my sister raised her camera and asked if she could take his picture, he snapped, "NO!!! Put that away!!" He begrudgingly gave us an autograph, had no interest in talking with us, was visibly annoyed, and just handed the book back and said "you're welcome," and turned away. When he saw another group walking towards him, he got in his vehicle as quickly as an elderly man could and sped off. My family and I were just shocked and disappointed, because that was not the trait that has been projected about Roy Rogers. You would think he would be honored to have a younger generation interested in him. If we were at a grocery store or restaurant parking lot and he was with his family, maybe I can understand the aloofness. However, to be cold to your fans at YOUR own museum....sorry I can't understand it. If he didn't want to be bothered, why go to the museum where your fans are at? What did he expect? If he was in a hurry, he could still have been nice about it. Anyway, I never felt the same about him since. The only reason I clicked on this video was to see if the video talked about Roy Rogers ranch in Chatsworth, CA...my home town. Sorry for the long winded post. I had to vent.

Not knowing how he interacted with other unplanned meetings of fans, maybe he was having a bad day with his health or something. I was assigned to the fire station in Chatsworth in 1980. During my 24 yr tenure there, our crew had the pleasure of walking through Roy and Dales Chatsworth home at 22801 Trigger St. There was still a refrigerated meat locker near the garage where Roy and his friends would hang their wild game kills. The home was sold to Val Kilmer's father who later passed away. My wife and I were fortunate to see Roy and Dale at the dedication of the Chatsworth Train Depot in 1986. First Dale spoke, then Roy. He talked for about 4 minutes when he started rambling and Dale saved him by taking back the mic. We have pics here somewhere. Chatsworth Park was originally their property as well and was Roy's skeet range. The park was so contaminated with lead that the City of LA closed it down for a period of time. The checker in the Ralph's grocery store there on Hwy 18 told us Dale Evans cut in line once saying, "I'm Dale Evans." 😫 I trust it was in the later years. They were generous and kind and a great boost to Apple Valley. I couldn't take the heat and our house was a money pit.
Met Roy on the street in la. He had stopped signing autographs but we sat down on a bus stop bench and talked for almost a half hour. He was humble and very gracious

Thank you, Jeff for this great video! I used to live in Apple Valley, and the atmosphere of the entire Victor Valley changed after Roy died. It just became an overcrowded, gang ridden place in the desert. This video was so beautifully done that I almost miss living there.
Seems like a lot of places in California have become gang infested. Parents just aren’t doing a good job raising kids so the streets do it for them and the results are tragic! Glad you liked our video though!
Great memories of Roy and Dale, also Gene Autry. I liked the clip about Cincinnati, where Roy was born. I live about 25 miles from the Old River Front Stadium and have seen second base many times. Very thorough and incorporated much of the Old West..... Roy and Dale entertained millions in their lifetime. Very well done Jeff.....thank you....

Another great video! Roy & Dale were international superstars, and along with Hopalong Cassidy and the Cisco Kid, my favorite western characters in my (now long ago) youth. I have young friends in the Apple Valley/Victorville area, and have visited the locations you cover. Also a lot of fun educating my young charges about Roy, Dale, Trigger, Buttermilk, Bullet, etc. Their gravesites are relatively modest, considering how famous they were. I last visited on a Memorial Day and was the only one at their graves. The chapel named in their honor is nice.
I grew up in Chatsworth California. In high school (Chatsworth High) I dated a girl, Tina Stavish. She lived in Roy and Dale's house in the Chatsworth hills. I've been to the house many times. Val Kilmer also attended Chatsworth High, of which also lived in Roy Rogers and Dale Evens house! What a trip!!!

My grandmother told story’s of Roy and Dale coming into my grandparents store in Tudor in NorCal when they use to come up for duck hunting in Yuba and Sutter county’s. Wish I could find the pictures that was taken when ever they was this way. Love your channel. Keep up the great work
I used to work for the City of Victorville Public Works Dept. One day in the early 90's I was stopping traffic on Armagosa Rd while the asphalt crew was working on the road. A van came barrelling down towards me and didn't stop, I threw the stop and slow sign into the desert and ran for my life, the van finally stopped. I ran up to it mad as hell yelling and cussing at the driver, when the driver rolled down his window I got the shock of my life, it was Roy and Dale. All he said was "oh your fixing the road, well it's about time". That's how I met childhood hero. He was a nice guy, just a bad driver.....lol
That is an amazing story! Sounds like Roy was trying to cover his butt with his bad driving by acting like, "oh, you're doing road work." Duh! LOL! I would have thought he would have apologized! LOL. Reminds me of the story of Harry Truman getting pulled over for speeding and Bess said "I told him so!" in front of the officer!

History Hunters yes right in the middle near Warwick castle I met one of your countryman when I was young John Wayne in England visiting a country house , big man big personality and he came over and spoke to my father and me . You didn't didn't even mention when Roy Rogers became a hotelier. In the 1940's, an upscale resort hotel, called the Apple Valley Inn, was built. It became a weekend getaway destination for the Hollywood elite. In 1965 (per Wikipedia), Roy Rogers leased the property. He attached his name to the property and assumed the role of host. In 1970, my Dad bought a house in Wrightwood (in the San Gabriel Mountains), which we moved from our home in Corona. The Apple Valley Inn became a favored place for "out to dinner" nights, not so much for the food, but because the Rogers' were known to frequently make the rounds, going from table to table to greet their guests. They never came in on our nights there before I joined the service in 1972. If the folks and little sister met them later, I wasn't told.
Spent some of my growing-up years not too far from Victorville and went there several times, but never got to look at the museum. Mom and Dale Evans were friendly acquaintances in their latter years. I remember watching re-runs of the Roy Rogers Show as a kid, Saturday afternoons on TV. My wife and I have a fair number of Roy and Dale's movies on DVD.
Born in 1954 ,70 in two months, i remember vividly watching Roy on Saturday mornings ,part of my wonderful memories,,a child of the 60's who grew up with the Beatles,the Who ,and all that great music along with Westerns.....what a great time to be alive
I lived just a few miles from Roy and Dale saw him a few times he always stopped and talked to everyone. I also have a good friend I grew up with who's in the same cemetery.

You know, before moving to Apple Valley, Roy and Dale lived in Chatsworth just past the Oakwood Cemetery, which you have documented. The old white clapboard church on the grounds of Oakwood used to be on Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Chatsworth, and was the early location of the First Methodist Church of Chatsworth, where Roy and Dale were members in good standing ( my family attended there until I was four.)

Years ago my husband and I were driving from Death Valley to Los Angeles when I looked out the window and saw The Roy Rogers Museum. I was so excited and said, "Look! Oh my goodness! It's the Roy Rogers Museum." My husband just kept looking forward, said "Un huh...." and kept driving. A couple of years later I talked him into going back and we were both thrilled to see all (and I do mean ALL) of the displays. I think Roy and Dale saved everything. It was wonderful. Thanks for sharing this trip down memory lane.
I got to tour it with my now departed grandmother in 1980. It was a special visit. It is now all gone. I have photos of his display boards and the car and Trigger and Bullet, taxidermy and all. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!

At the conclusion of my husband's funeral, he had the song Happy trails sung. It was definitely the most appropriate thing I've ever seen!

Thank you Jeff for showing us the places Roy Rogers aka Leonard Slye lived and worked at. His last house sold for a little over 600,000; a similar house like that up here in Roseville would sell for close to 2 million dollars. I met Roy / Leonard at the museum after he had Trigger "stuffed" and mounted. He had a grand opening of the museum in the late 1960s. My family and I did drive past the Old Adobe house and didn't we didn't think too much of it; it was very old and somewhat run down looking.
It is amazing how fast time creeps along; they're all gone now from this planet. Roy and Dale had a simple kind of faith and belief system in the Lord Jesus. Some people, nowadays would probably call them corny but they were true quality people that aren't seen very often anymore.
I didn't see Sarah until later in the show so, thank you also for commenting on this show. I knew that his secretary signed autographs en mass for Roy. There were machines back then and now that can sign people's signatures. I just noticed the close up of the horse it has a dumb look on its face; maybe that's the reason why people didn't want it in the cemetery. At 12:08 the newspaper headline says, "Phantom attacks two more ranches." Those are true headlines nowadays what with cattle mutilations going on and being reported every now and then.
The "do-gooders" objected to the fact that Triggers genitalia were showing. That is why it was removed.

Jeff, great video. I grew up in Apple Valley and you could occasionally see both Roy or Dale around town. I wanted to point out a couple of related items in your video. While you were recording in the rocky section of the memorial park one of the family names in the background (12:30) was Cusack. Mr. Cusack started and ran the local cable company that your prized cancelled check was made out to. Also, you showed the marker for the Brewster family. The father Lenny was the umpire for the local baseball little league for many years. There is a community park named in his honor not too far from the memorial park. Thanks for the video.
Oh Yeah!!..I grew up in the late 1940's & early 1950's and Roy Rogers was my hero..Going to the theater to see his movies and then watching on television..Today,almost 70 years later,I still get a special feeling whenever I come across something about Roy..We do have one common bond,we were both born in Ohio..I especially liked this video,Thanks,Jeff & Sara!!

That has to be the most beautiful cemetery I have ever scene! I love the grave markings among the boulders. They were a very special couple who did so much for children. I love your videos Jeff and Sarah yesterday I spent all day listening to them yes I have to listen to them I cannot watch them because I am a truck driver and I have to truck but in Oro grande that's where his ranch is he had a house there too it's by Helendale another trippy place but good people I go buy it twice a week it's pretty neat to if you're ever in the area it's off route 66 my friends live down the road from there they went to visit they thought I was really cool anyways something to look into I like Roy Rogers I watch utube videos if his show when I can but my favorite videos are the ones that you make thank you for taking us all over California I appreciate it.....

LOL ! THE closest I can come to that honor is 5th grade school pictures, the photographer called Dale Evans. Said I resembled her? Mabe, or Mabe he was just getting me to crack a smile! She was a very lovely Lady thru and thru.

I wish I had your good experience. I met Rogers about 2-3 years before he passed. As a kid I was a big fan, bought VHS tapes on just about every one of his movies, read his bio, and even owned a palomino horse that I trained to rear. One day, when I was about 18 years old my family drove 2 hours to the museum, spent 1/2 the day there, and alot of money on memorabilia at the gift shop.
In the lobby, I saw Roy Rogers's son Dusty behind the counter looking down at the desk next to the clerk. I said "Hi, Dusty" with a big smile and he looked up at me stone faced and went back to looking down at the desk. No "Hello" back or even a smile.
Just as we were leaving, who did we see in the parking lot, but Roy Rogers. Sadly, the star struck joy was quickly shattered. I was utterly heartbroken by how rude he was. When he saw us approaching he rolled his eyes and looked pissed off. When we politely asked for an autograph for a book we bought on his movie career, he said "I'm not allowed to give autographs, but since no else is around I'll do it." He was vey annoyed, but at least he did give us an autograph. When my sister raised her camera and asked if she could take his picture, he snapped, "NO!!! Put that away!!"
He begrudgingly gave us an autograph, had no interest in talking with us, was visibly annoyed, and just handed the book back and said "you're welcome," and turned away. When he saw another group walking towards him, he got in his vehicle as quickly as an elderly man could and sped off.
My family and I were just shocked and disappointed, because that was not the trait that has been projected about Roy Rogers.
You would think he would be honored to have a younger generation interested in him. If we were at a grocery store or restaurant parking lot and he was with his family, maybe I can understand the aloofness. However, to be cold to your fans at YOUR own museum....sorry I can't understand it.
If he didn't want to be bothered, why go to the museum where your fans are at? What did he expect? If he was in a hurry, he could still have been nice about it.
Anyway, I never felt the same about him since. The only reason I clicked on this video was to see if the video talked about Roy Rogers ranch in Chatsworth, CA...my home town.
Sorry for the long winded post. I had to vent.
@@Glorfinniel --That is such a shame to have experienced that. We forget sometimes that celebrities are people, too, and they suffer the same emotions, ups and downs like the rest of us. Not knowing how he interacted with other unplanned meetings of fans, maybe he was having a bad day with his health or something. I'm sorry to hear that he and his son treated you so callously considering all the joy and fun he and Dale gave us growing up. 😞

I was assigned to the fire station in Chatsworth in 1980. During my 24 yr tenure there, our crew had the pleasure of walking through Roy and Dales Chatsworth home at 22801 Trigger St. There was still a refrigerated meat locker near the garage where Roy and his friends would hang their wild game kills. The home was sold to Val Kilmer's father who later passed away. My wife and I were fortunate to see Roy and Dale at the dedication of the Chatsworth Train Depot in 1986. First Dale spoke, then Roy. He talked for about 4 minutes when he started rambling and Dale saved him by taking back the mic. We have pics here somewhere. Chatsworth Park was originally their property as well and was Roy's skeet range. The park was so contaminated with lead that the City of LA closed it down for a period of time. The checker in the Ralph's grocery store there on Hwy 18 told us Dale Evans cut in line once saying, "I'm Dale Evans." 😫 I trust it was in the later years. They were generous and kind and a great boost to Apple Valley. I couldn't take the heat and our house was a money pit.
I still live here in Apple Valley. I live near the old Hotel on highway 18. This place has changed alot from what it used to be.
I grew up watching those old cowboy movies. I did get to visit the museum back when Trigger was still housed there.
Met Roy on the street in la. He had stopped signing autographs but we sat down on a bus stop bench and talked for almost a half hour. He was humble and very gracious

Roy Rogers! That really brings back memories! I remember how often he and Dale rode their horses in almost every Rose Parade in the 60’s and I believe into the 80’s as well.

I used to live in Apple Valley, and the atmosphere of the entire Victor Valley changed after Roy died. It just became an overcrowded, gang ridden place in the desert.
This video was so beautifully done that I almost miss living there.
Seems like a lot of places in California have become gang infested. Parents just aren’t doing a good job raising kids so the streets do it for them and the results are tragic! Glad you liked our video though!
Great memories of Roy and Dale, also Gene Autry. I liked the clip about Cincinnati, where Roy was born. I live about 25 miles from the Old River Front Stadium and have seen second base many times. Very thorough and incorporated much of the Old West..... Roy and Dale entertained millions in their lifetime. Very well done Jeff.....thank you....

Another great video! Roy & Dale were international superstars, and along with Hopalong Cassidy and the Cisco Kid, my favorite western characters in my (now long ago) youth. I have young friends in the Apple Valley/Victorville area, and have visited the locations you cover. Also a lot of fun educating my young charges about Roy, Dale, Trigger, Buttermilk, Bullet, etc. Their gravesites are relatively modest, considering how famous they were. I last visited on a Memorial Day and was the only one at their graves. The chapel named in their honor is nice.

I grew up in Chatsworth California. In high school (Chatsworth High) I dated a girl, Tina Stavish. She lived in Roy and Dale's house in the Chatsworth hills. I've been to the house many times. Val Kilmer also attended Chatsworth High, of which also lived in Roy Rogers and Dale Evens house! What a trip!!!

These bring back such memories for me, lived in So Cal, Glendora, Covina, etc, then moved to Hesperia, etc. Now i've moved to Little Rock and then NW Arkansas, and So Cal has changed. I only miss it as it was back in the day, 60s and 70s. Thx for the videos!

My grandmother told story’s of Roy and Dale coming into my grandparents store in Tudor in NorCal when they use to come up for duck hunting in Yuba and Sutter county’s. Wish I could find the pictures that was taken when ever they was this way. Love your channel. Keep up the great work

I used to work for the City of Victorville Public Works Dept. One day in the early 90's I was stopping traffic on Armagosa Rd while the asphalt crew was working on the road. A van came barrelling down towards me and didn't stop, I threw the stop and slow sign into the desert and ran for my life, the van finally stopped. I ran up to it mad as hell yelling and cussing at the driver, when the driver rolled down his window I got the shock of my life, it was Roy and Dale. All he said was "oh your fixing the road, well it's about time". That's how I met childhood hero. He was a nice guy, just a bad driver.....lol
That is an amazing story! Sounds like Roy was trying to cover his butt with his bad driving by acting like, "oh, you're doing road work." Duh! LOL! I would have thought he would have apologized! LOL. Reminds me of the story of Harry Truman getting pulled over for speeding and Bess said "I told him so!" in front of the officer!

History Hunters yes right in the middle near Warwick castle I met one of your countryman when I was young John Wayne in England visiting a country house , big man big personality and he came over and spoke to my father and me . You didn't didn't even mention when Roy Rogers became a hotelier. In the 1940's, an upscale resort hotel, called the Apple Valley Inn, was built. It became a weekend getaway destination for the Hollywood elite.
In 1965 (per Wikipedia), Roy Rogers leased the property. He attached his name to the property and assumed the role of host.
In 1970, my Dad bought a house in Wrightwood (in the San Gabriel Mountains), which we moved from our home in Corona. The Apple Valley Inn became a favored place for "out to dinner" nights, not so much for the food, but because the Rogers' were known to frequently make the rounds, going from table to table to greet their guests. They never came in on our nights there before I joined the service in 1972. If the folks and little sister met them later, I wasn't told.
Spent some of my growing-up years not too far from Victorville and went there several times, but never got to look at the museum. Mom and Dale Evans were friendly acquaintances in their latter years. I remember watching re-runs of the Roy Rogers Show as a kid, Saturday afternoons on TV. My wife and I have a fair number of Roy and Dale's movies on DVD.
Born in 1954 ,70 in two months, i remember vividly watching Roy on Saturday mornings ,part of my wonderful memories,,a child of the 60's who grew up with the Beatles,the Who ,and all that great music along with Westerns.....what a great time to be alive

You know, before moving to Apple Valley, Roy and Dale lived in Chatsworth just past the Oakwood Cemetery, which you have documented. The old white clapboard church on the grounds of Oakwood used to be on Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Chatsworth, and was the early location of the First Methodist Church of Chatsworth, where Roy and Dale were members in good standing ( my family attended there until I was four.)
