As a RV service technician, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND building a shade to store the bus under. NEVER leave food in the bus rats will eventually finish the food and then start eating the wiring. This bus is as good as it gets here, properly maintained it will last 2 million + miles (aka the rest of your life). Very good purchase!

The car-hauler bus conversion is basically the standard for any moderately successful drifting operation here in Finland, what with basically no big pickups to tow gooseneck trailers and all the license and registration complications that come with those. With a bus you get the hauler, tools, beds and lounge space for a whole team in one convenient package. I'm guessing at least 80% of his fans are living their dreams vicariously thru Taylor which is why we enjoy watching him. I was never a fan of drift before first meeting Taylor when he helped Cleetus install an angle kit on Donnie. Still not really a fan of drift but I'm a rock solid fan of Taylor Ray and enjoy watching him do his work. Congrats Taylor on finding and purchasing the new rig. It will provide you an awesome ride to and from the tracks of the East Coast,, perhaps even to middle America and the West Coast. A word to the wise,, leave the engine and running gear as it is. You'll find it will give you hundreds of thousands of relatively trouble free travel if you keep up on the service and inspect tires, brakes, fluids etc, frequently. You'll enjoy learning what you can and cannot do with that BIG coach in due time.

Even if your traveling and break down, it would be something street legal as a backup. Maybe 2 so multiple people can go somewhere if you find yourselves in that situation. I'm sure you could squeeze them in the back with the car. Or get a carrier that slides in the hitch to carry one.

there's two main things to keep in mind with a bus. 1, Front and rear overhang from the axles. Keep the rear axle in mind as a pivot point, and think around that in tight spaces as you turn, and mind that you have about 10' of swinging overhang behind it, especially with the opposite rear corner from your closes pivot point (curb side, or turn side). 2, high clearance, Measure the top pf the bus (usually 11'-12') and mark it on the dashboard if not already marked and etch it into your brain and always look for bridges, low overhangs etc. It'll become second nature. Also helps if you gat a trucking or rv specific GPS that you mount in your field of view, and once set up for correct dimensions and weights it will only navigate you on good routes without low bridges or weight restrictions. As an added bonus, if you want a car to drive around look into tow-behind (toad, dinghy sometimes they're called) that can be set up to be towed behind RV's, and drag it along on that hitch. google Dinghy guide, and you'll see what can and can't be towed flat. (sorry for the long post from an ex truck, motor coach and city bus driver)

Yeah the rear overhang will be something to get used to. My old gooseneck was on the shorter side so it only had about 6ft of overhang. So it wasn't much of a concern. The heigh is 12'9 with the AC's so I'll keep that in mind, and seeing as this doesn't have car play, I may as well get a truck GPS. I was considering using a small open trailer to tow another car whether it's a track car or a drive around car, but the dinghy might be simpler. Thanks for all the insight!

    • @attilaplays
      @attilaplays ปีที่แล้ว

@@Taylordrifts open trailer is easier but adds weight. It costs more to set up a fight, but being that it's a bus you could tow a pickup behind it too. It can handle it. @@Taylordrifts I think you will be okay buddy. You're familiar with the Cummins engine and I think it'll be keeping an eye on the air system because that is so crucial to the operation. Watching for leaks and I think the suspension will be one of those areas you may have to surrender if it needs work just because of how big everything is.
Definitely excited to see what you do with it and wish you the best of luck 👍

Worked on buses for years down here in miami dade, it just getting the hang of it, the air system works extremely similar to electrical system, bunch of switches and valves. just make sure you keep the air system free of water and don't trust auto drains on the tanks

    Hi:
I drove silver Eagles for Trailways for 14 years.
Yours is a real gem with that Cummins. It's cool because it lacks all of the emissions garbage that engines were later saddled with.
By the way: the dash has phosphorescent like backl lighting in an aquamarine color-- if you can get it to work-- stunning light display when functional.
Eagles always need much beefier front shocks to keep that wave motion like ride in better check.
I used to take charters from Chicago to Iron mountain Michigan in blizzards. 35-45 mph winds, and two feet of blowing snow with no chains, and it hauled like a tomahawk going through soft flesh.
    An amazing piece of equipment.
If you ever need a primo diesel bus mechanic, I highly recommend the bus grease monkey in Tennessee. He has his own TH-cam channel.
Safe travels, and good luck at the races.

*IF* you can get away with running LP22.5 tires, do it but it’s most likely running, or maybe even HAS to run,
11R22.5. The LPs are easier to find in a pinch or if/when you’re in BFE. Probably runs a 1000 fuel filter and 3000 oil filter. Don’t forget about truck stops! If you ever need parts, they usually have shops and/or are open 24/7. Otherwise, looking forward to seeing what you do with this thing! 😎

Back in the 80's ( yes I'm an old fart) we were racing drag boats and one competitor showed up with his blown fuel flatbottom boat being towed with a stretch limo with custom tool boxes and spare parts ( you need lots of those racing nitro motors) built into the limo.
Nowadays you show up with this kind of crazy rig.

I think everyone who geeks out about whatever setup they have knows how this goes.
So how long till you put it on air-ride?
Best foot pedal switches are Hi/lo beams and wiper low on/off or just single wipe (IMO).
The tail lift reminds me of drift games studio.. Vynal wrap the garage to a street? XD
For leaving the track, couple bikes or a K car? Garage seems big enough to take the vette and something else a bit more compact
Fummins givaway.. Hope your dropping lots of new merch designs, really make the most of it for yourself and the fans.

This is awesome. As for being stuck at the track without a second car - maybe if there is enough space in front of the 'vette, you could fit a little road-legal moped in there? You couldn't carry heavy parts with something like that of course, but it could be handy if you just need to go buy gaskets or fittings or food in a pinch.

Subscribed ONLY because of the bus and only to see what you do with this beast. I'm always intrigued by what people do with these machines. I'm mostly interested in watching those videos where people bring back pretty dead cars and trucks of any size, but seeing a reno on something that is already livable, is worth watching as well.
I love the feeling of acceleration, and I do every once in a while when no one is around or with me, put it to the floor, but I've never had the interest in seeing or playing in a pro or amateur setting. It's too expensive of a hobby for me. I FULLY understand the thrill, I just don't have the interest in the racing anymore.
I look forward to seeing what you do with this bus. She may be in her 40s, but she's built to last.

Nice rig guys! Fire extinguishers, fire extinguishers everywhere! All combustibles stored properly in a fireproof cabinet and do an inspection of all electrical especially if it is to a non working device. I wouldn't store any flammable liquids anywhere near the generator or engine compartment. Install camera in the car storage area if it doesn't have one now to keep an eye on things while traveling. Definitely find that oil leak on the engine and inspect it and generator often. You have the best of all worlds in one PKG but you also have all of the evils in one as well. Congratulations on your new rig and best of luck with your race program, give em hell guys!

Welcome to the RV world. My motto of RV ownership is... "the only thing that works 100% of the time on a RV is the owner." If that engine is a 95, then most likely it is one of the mechanical injectors that are super dependable. You will more than likely never use up the tread on the tires... you go by age (date codes on the tire). 5 years start checking them... 8 years replace regardless of tread. Really nice rig for what you need!!!

Great looking rig, If you want it to stay the way you bought it, you need to take care of it like the previous owner did, that means parking it on concrete, if you leave it on the dirt, grass it's going to rust and deteriorate and possibly sink. It needs to be parked inside or the paint job will fall to the elements. Good luck with your new toy!

Congratulations on the purchase. Some things to note, an Eagle has torsion bar suspension and a lot of grease fittings to hit all over. Do it regularly to keep it smooth. Depending on your transmission display, press the up and down arrows at the same time to get an accurate reading of the transmission fluid level. Must be warm and at idle and on flat ground. Where is the spare tire for the bus? On a Prevost it is behind the front bumper, I'm not sure if an Eagle has one there but it is worth a look. Conversion companies sometimes remove the spare tire and put the house batteries there. On the prevo there was a lever and the front bumper tilted down to access the spare tire. One disadvantage of a bus, is if it breaks down your car's are stuck with the bus. If you have a trailer, you could just switch trucks and keep going. I think you had that experience once. I pulled trailers all the time with a 45' Prevost. Once I was pulling my Jeep that was pulling a trailer. I couldn't back up.

As a CDL-A Holder and a common motorist, please read the CDL Drivers Guide, there are a lot of rules and regulations required of larger rigs. Consider getting your CDL Class B with a bus endorsement at the least. You can do your testing in this vehicle. Not being a buzz killer but you are a large rig and if (god forbid) you were in an accident, you would be fine, but consider others when driving such a large rig. Awesome Rig, and congrats!
