- WhatsApp Communities are one of the most significant updates to the Meta-owned app in a long time.
With the new organizational feature, admins can manage multiple work-related or casual groups more efficiently and coordinate between members more efficiently.
All users will now be able to access WhatsApp Communities as a separate tab on the main WhatsApp screen, replacing the camera tab that was previously on the top bar, to the left of the search button.
Communities on WhatsApp are available in limited countries only and it’s possible to not show the option.

For those with questions about its usefulness: it’s more for admins of large groups. I use it for my study association. That way there is a nice way to organize the association for our board

Can everyone in the community see the groups? And if yes, are all community members able to see group threads or do they have to be invited into the group to view its conversations?
Sounds like Discord Servers but mediocre, I am still hoping that they will add a feature where I can hide my mobile number so that I can join community without getting multiple strangers call prank.

I don't think it is unnecessary. I think you just have not found the use for it. My company has branches and I think it would make sense to have a community

Yeah I feel like it doesn’t have much personal use, however business use for positions like district managers needing to communicate with many subdivided groups may find it’s convenient.

Does every sub group member gets added to the announcement group? What is the best way to invite someone from to both announcement + subgroup ?
Yes, every sub group member gets added to the announcement group.
Once you create invite for community and then they will view all the groups that are under that Community and request to join them, just tap on group name > Request to Join.

I have 2 groups within the same community, and when I invite people to join just one of the group, they send messages to join the other one too, where they are not supposed to be. How can I stop them from sending invitations to join the other group too?
Hi, to prevent members from inviting others to the wrong group, clarify group boundaries and adjust group settings to restrict invitations.
How do you create a community where only the admin can comment and all of the members are anonymous? I want to set up a community of announcements only...
It's simple! Just can change the group message settings to Admin Only.
The questions is, are other groups can access our group if we on the same community?

No other group members cannot access your group even if you guys are in the same community.
While we add multiple groups to a community, looks like it create a community head to those group members whatsapp as well that exposes the group members unnecessarily..

Yes, you can hide it. There is an option called “Phone number sharing”, which would let you to decide whether you want to share your numbers with the group members/community or not.

Hi,
- Open WhatsApp application on your android or I-phone
- Now click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right side of your screen
- Now from these options, select settings
- Now select Account option
- And now you have to select Privacy option in WhatsApp
- When you are on a Privacy page, you will see About option, click on it
- In About Option you will get 3 options
- You can choose nobody, this will hide your number.

Can all members send message in a community? What is the maximum number of members of a group in a community? Are contact details of members of a particular group visible to same group members and to other members of the community?
Only admins can send messages in the announcements group to notify all team members.
Admins can create a Community with up to 50 groups, which can have up to 2,000 members .
Still unclear what the difference is with groups.
okay. In simple language when you combine 2 or more group together it will become a community.

How do I stop random people from adding me to communities? I do not mean groups....I mean communities. I'm getting spammed from another country and it even looks like phishing
To stop random people from adding you to communities on WhatsApp, adjust your privacy settings to only allow your contacts to add you.
This is a game changer for our scout group, we have 10 plus group chats for different sections etc..

No, it is not available for WhatsApp Business App or WhatsApp API at the moment.
I can't seem to allow my community to send messages. Can you help me fix that?
Open the group, go to settings, and enable "All Participants" to send messages in a WhatsApp community, But in Announcements Only community admins can send messages.

When you deactivate a community, all the groups you and other members belong to will be disconnected from the community. These groups will still exist, and can be found in the Chats tab.
How do we pin a community group now
Open WhatsApp on all groups and press your intended Group and look above three icons will appear, including pin at the left. Press the pin and the Group will be pinned.
Doesnt answer what the members see. I created a community of groups then quicky deleted it when I found out members form each group could see the other groups. It should only be a change for community admins and no change from group members side.
